We stayed here for four nights in early June as part of a two week trip to Europe. We had arranged our arrival time with Frank prior. He was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us to our room. Frank's is an apartment with two rooms- one with a private bathroom (which is what we had) and one...

Frank's was our first stop once we arrived to Rome from New York City. Frank sent us an email the morning of our stay while were on the plane en route to confirm our stay, which we obviously didn't check. As a result, Frank wasn't expecting us so he didn't hear us knocking. Thankfully, his nice neighbor called him on...

Frank's House is clean, welcoming, modern and CHEAP! It is an amazing value, and Frank is a great host and communicator. The elevator was going to be repaired the week we were staying there and he made sure that we knew that before we came. The location is perfect and so close to the train station that you can get...

I stayed here on my first trip to Rome, and I couldn't have been luckier to have found such a cool place. Frank's help and suggestions for exploring the city were great. He knows all the museums to see, the ones to skip; where to eat, and where NOT to eat. His help was incredible and really made my time...

This is a great B and B/ small hotel. My fiancé and I were glad we stumbled upon it. Frank's House is clean and trendy yet affordable. It was really nice to stay in Rome and have an English speaking owner. Frank helped us plan our last minute trip Milan, he even phoned and set up our accommodations!

After having been laid off, I made my fantasy of spending an extended vacation in Rome a reality by staying at Franks. I'd only been to Rome a few times before for short stays in hotels and am not the b&b type however the stay was superb! Frank was extremely gracious and patient with my barrage of questions and even...

I stayed in this apartment when visiting my son in Italy. The place was super clean (especially the bathroom), convenient to all transportation (about a 5 min. walk to the central station - Termini) and very reasonable. Frank himself was really nice, spoke English (he's from the US) and was a font of knowledge about all of the trains, buses,...

So, I've lived in Rome for many years and am constantly searching for places to suggest to the bands of guests that come in from the States. Frank's place is the one. It's hard to travel in Rome (public transportation can be a mess, the city is a knockout but sometimes overwhelming for non Italian speakers) and Frank offers the...

When we were planning our first Roman holiday last year our priority for lodging was to find something simple, clean and affordable so we could go broke on other things! To our delight Frank's House surpassed our expectations. It's basically a small, boutique hotel at a fraction of the price. It really is! Frank, the owner, speaks english which was...

My wife and I stayed here over the holidays and just loved it. Frank has two rooms, and we stayed in the larger room that faces the steet with the private ensuite bathhrom. The room was large and well furnished, and the mattress was also really comfortable. Everything was very clean, and the bathroom was just beautiful - super modern/chic....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
