In addition his place was very very clean and just cozy for the right price. If I were to go back... More

I had the pleasure of staying at Frank's house last month and I must say it was wonderful!!! After a long morning of planes, trains, and automobiles I was so relieved to arrive and relax in a room that felt like home. It was very clean and decorated down to the smallest details. Those small touches can make a huge... More

Great location, great price and Farank is a friendly person.... always available to help , but not in your face. Booked nice restaurant for us , explained the map and transport system and made very helpful suggestions. Very close to piazza and also three metros. Great and cheap food and clothes market within 200 yards... Best recommendation is that we... More

My girlfriend and I had been traveling throughout Europe recently and Rome was our last stop on our journey. I was referred to Frank's House B&B by a friend and it was hands down our favorite place we stayed throughout our European vacation. We were cordially greeted by Frank when we arrived. He immediately showed us us to our room... More

I found Frank's place through cross pollinate a website I found within Rick Steves guidebook. I couldn't be more pleased staying here. It was clean, quiet and Frank was really helpful! He recommended restaurants to visit and was willing to call and make reservations or help in any way. You're only a few blocks from a train stop and not... More

Frank's place was comfortable, clean and we loved that it reminded us of our own place... except it was in Rome! It was the perfect place to stay after a long flight from Bangkok. We were also pleasantly surprised with its accessibility to another metro station Vittorio Emmanuel (in addition to the central station they call Termini) and its multicultural... More

We visited Roma on the weekend of the marathon, where almost all accommodation was booked out. I based my decision on TripAdvisor reviews and I have to say it was well worth it. The hospitality is excellent and Frank will provide you with a local map and point out the sights as well as some great places for coffee and... More

Apart from being BRILLIANTLY located (it is only a short walk away from Roma Termini station, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum) Frank and Solidad could not have made us more welcome. Really felt that any questions we had we could ask them - or consult one of the many travel guides littered about! We were given many good recommendations... More

We have just returned from our first visit to Rome and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Franks house is well located for sight seeing as most attractions are within walking distance and there is a Metro stop only 2 minutes away to get to Vatican City and slightly more distant places if interest. The accommodation was perfect for us as we... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. It was great value for money. The room was very clean, bright and comfortable. Huge bed, very nice balcony and nice bathroom inside. There was no breakfast but it's realy not a problem in Rome. Definitely will back! Thank you Frank!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
