My partner and I stayed here recently upon a trip to Rome. As soon as we were dropped off by our taxi we were very wary as the building has no obvious signage that you are at the right building and with only a metal gate as an entrance it isn't the idyllic place you dream about. After buzzing up...

We stayed at Trastevere Relais for 4 nights and had an excellent time. Our room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, and our bathroom was modern and very pleasant. The colorful rooms reflect the whimsy of Alessandra, the owner and hostess. She was fun, very helpful, and very responsive. The breakfast table brought croissants still warm from the oven, and...

This little B&B was perfect for my family while visiting Rome. It's located on the 3rd floor. The elevator wasn't working, but we knew that when we booked it and that wasn't a problem, even with all our luggage. Our suite was the 1st on the left when you entered the B&B. It was super clean and very stylish. The...

If you prefer to stay in Trastevere, this little B&B is a good option. The owners were very nice and considerate with our arrival times. It was clean and had everything you need when you are all day out walking the city. Walking distance to excellent restaurants.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a young fellow who had no idea I was expected and had to call his boss numerous times to figure what to do. He was really clueless. The hotel is in a great area but in a run down building and the rooms are pretty tacky-looking and the bathrooms smell.

We received an email one week before our trip that our reservation had been cancelled due to "problems with the pipes" in our intended room. It turns out that the hotel was probably overbooked since we heard from other people that they are still staying there for that same weekend. After an angry phone call to the manager, they still...

We stayed in Trastevere Relais for two nights and were pleasantly surprised from the very first moment we stepped into this place. Originally decorated and stylish rooms full of wonderful interior ideas and extremely helpful and kind staff,- all of this exceeded our expectations. The owner of the apartment seems to be aware of how to make the stay of...

This is a nice little hotel. Stayed in Room 205- clean and modern, mini-fridge, flatscreen TV, wifi access in the room for a few € a day. Comfy bed and cold AC (the unit was a little loud, but white noise helps me sleep, so perfect for me). Small, but suitable for a solo traveler. The bathroom was spacious and...

Although the location was good I would not recommend this B&B as the female manager/owner has a big attitude problem. I booked in for six nights and not once were my towels changed. When I enquired I was told I could have a clean towel at a cost. I was not expecting them to be changed every day but at...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
