A simple no-frills hotel that provides sufficient basic amenities. If you require a little more "frills", there's vending machine for hot and cold snacks, drinks, even other amenities. Self service laundry and dryer is also available at €4 per wash/dry. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all, hotel was conveniently located near the Termini if you need to...

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. From the airport we took the train to Termini train station, and from there it was about a 15 minute walk to the hotel. We had to drag our suitcases along the cobbled road (not so easy) and try to figure out the geography of the city at the same time so that's why...

Booked this hotel based upon the reviews on Trip Advisor. Didn't truly realise 'how' central the hotel was until we arrived! Friendly welcome & simple check-in. The room was plenty big enough, with sufficient storage space - the bathroom was large! Everything was modern, new & the room clean & tidy. The view of the Rome Opera House (Teatro dell'Opera...

We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. Based on the reviews we asked for a room with view on the opera and they fullfilled our wish. The room was very clean and the size was ok, not a very big room, but good enough for us. The rooms are very silent, we only heard noice from the street once...

We spent 3 nights at the IQ prior to a cruise. We chose this hotel based on other tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed at all! They arranged airport pick up for us - cheaper than I'd found elsewhere and they were right on time with no problems. The hotel in a terrific location off a major street and...

Large (for Rome) room, comfortably sleeping two adults and two children - 7 & 9. Very good facilities- vending machines selling everything from umbrellas to wine! (All excellent value). Ten minute leisurely walk to Trevi and Spanish Steps - 15 to Colosseum, Vatican short easy metro journey. 5 mins walk with kids and suitcases from the train station (Termini). Highly...

Stayed at the IQ hotel for 5 wonderful nights. We enjoyed a surprisingly rich and tasty breakfast. The hotel is very modern in style and has a gym and a sauna (constructive comment - shelves in the closet and a full body mirror would have been helpful). The staff is most kind, patient and helpful in every hour of the...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
IQ is a 4-star hotel, with a twist! Located in downtown Rome, just a short 15 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain or the Colosseum and with Repubblica metro station just 200 metres away, hotels don't get much central than this. IQ guests enjoy free Wi-Fi connection throughout the hotel, a lovely terrace where to unwind overlooking the Opera House, and free access to our gym and sauna. We believe in tailor-made hospitality, so there are vending machines in virtually every floor, where you can buy yourself a bottle of wine, a pack of crisps, a tooth-brush or even an umbrella (not that you'll need it often!), All at very competitive prices. Now that you've found us... Welcome to a whole new hotel experience! IQ STAFF ... more   less
