Stayed there 5 nights and loved it. It's very clean, modern, tastefully decorated, spacious (even for 3 girls sharing) and has a beautiful terrace which we had our breakfast every morning. The breakfast was delivered to our room and had great variety of fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, tea/coffee, croissants etc. Very tasty and filled us for the day. The host,...

This is a lovely place to stay if visiting Rome. Just a 20 minute walk from some of Rome's main attractions. The host Alessandro is very helpful and attentive. He brings a delicious breakfast every morning directly to your room which is freshly prepared. Alessandro is clearly someone who cares about attention to detail. The room was absolutely spotless and...

We have just stayed at the Althea inn for 4 nights. We arrived late and Alessandro had arranged a taxi for us from the airport which was super convinent, although slightly higher priced at €50. The location of the apartment is on a side street in a residental block, but this isnt a problem. The area was out of the...

The breakfast was literally the best we had throughout our travels in Italy. Alessandro was the most gracious host and amenable to all of our scheduling / time changes. He was so wonderful and we were so lucky to find this place! Super clean, great shower, amazing breakfast, comfortable/huge bed. The location is great and easy to walk or either...

Althea Inn is a clean, spacious and a quiet place with 5 floors. We were on the 5th Floor. A fairly large en-suite room with a big balcony that had a beautiful secluded terraced garden. Plenty of comfortable garden furniture. Nearest Metro station [Piramide] is 5 minutes walk away and Colosseum is another 5 minutes ride on the Metro. Trains...

We stayed at Althea Inn for 5 days and it couldn't have been a better place to start the day for a sightseeing trip. It is in walking distance (30 min.) to the Colosseo and Trastevere but also has a metro station nearby. The breakfast was excellent and we also got great tips from Alessandro to plan our day. We...

My husband and I recently stayed at Althea Inn during a trip to Rome. Alessandro is a wonderful host and does a great job with the inn. The hotel is located about a mile south of the Colosseum, so it is quite easy to walk to the main parts of the city (and to avoid the costs associated with hotels...

This great B&B is off the beaten path a bit, but very close to public transportation. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the host was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful and the room was very clean and comfortable.

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
