We chose this hotel because it's so close to the Vatican, an area of Rome that we love, and because we knew there was a view of the Vatican from the hotel's restaurant. What we didn't realize was that the hotel boasts a two-level bar and patio, with panoramic views of Rome, and yes, the Vatican. We spent every evening... More

This is not a 4 star in my view. Scruffy rooms with grossly outdated decor. Not sure if there are newer rooms, in which case this would be a lovely hotel. My average rating is due to my party's three rooms which were awful. The reception looks the part but we found the staff rude and obnoxious. I don't believe... More

I booked this hotel based upon the pictures provided on their website... silly me! I should have read some other reviews first. I'm not usually swayed by reviews too much as it's a subjective thing, but I do tend to look at reviews from 2-4 stars as these are usually better then the euphoric 5 star or the anger driven... With the free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel to the incredible rooftop terrace bar, I was impressed with this hotel at first. I was travelling alone so I requested a single room but the room was an afterthought or originally part of a bigger setup. The room was just big enough for a single bed and a... More

We stayed there mid August and we enjoyed it very much. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean an cool. The roof terrace is perfect and the location is close to the main spots. Taxi is always available and shuttle service works.

The hotel is ideally located right next to Vatican city with great views across the city from the garden roof terrace. However, for a supposedly 4 start hotel you will feel a little short changed with the quality and size and amenities of the rooms. By no means a bad hotel but I would rate this a 3 star hotel... Spent 4 days at this beautiful hotel. I don't have a single complaint. The rooms were clean and comfortable, always stocked. The views from the terraces were spectacular. Buffet breakfast was hot, fresh, delicious. Most of all the staff were all attentive and friendly. Loved this hotel.

My husband and I spent four nights of our honeymoon here and enjoyed our stay very much. Our room had a lovely jacuzzi and the room was cleaned well daily. The location was great as just a short and pleasant walk from the Vatican. Also the view from our window was very nice! Only complaint: mini bar available in the... More

The staff was very nice, very professional. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is very high end. Only thing i thought was off was the TV, so many channels, but not user friendly, but free wifi made the TV obsolete along time ago. Guy at the front desk was a baller, very humble guy. He is a great asset... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
