Stayed in Ancient Rome during Christmas week ...cannot begin to explain how awesome our room view was. We booked the penthouse suite and it sleeps 3 comfortably. Our son had his own room. Also our view 24/7 was of the iconic , legendary structure - THE PANTHEON. The hotel is centrally located in ancient Rome and very walk-able to many boutiques, restaurants etc... Breakfast is complimentary which is great! You can get the breakfast delivered to your room. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Please, if you select this hotel , pay the extra bucks for the penthouse rooms to get that memorable view! High enough not to hear too much noise as well since that is one of the most busiest piazzas in Rome :) Oh Almost forgot - entry to The Pantheon is free so you can visit day and night , how many times you want to ! which we did since it was right across from the hotel.…
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. It is only listed as 3 star but felt like a higher rating. The hotel was well kept and in a really central location right next to the Pantheon. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious with a little balcony that over looked the Pantheon. There was a small cosy bar, that served excellent Prosecco and although the hotel did not have a restaurant it did have a breakfast area and breakfast was included in the rate. Restaurants were literally minutes walk from the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would 100% recommend this hotel, great value for money.
We arrived at Fiumicino airport in Rome and took the Terravision bus to Termini train station for €10 pp return. Normally we would have taken the bus 85 from Termini to Corsa Minghetti stop then a short walk to the hotel but as it was late and dark we took a taxi for about €13. Taxi is flat rate of €48 each way to the airport. We received a lovely welcome at check in and as we’d booked a ‘Charity’ package, this came with a free glass of Prosecco each in return for a €20 charitable donation. I’d booked a Superior double room with balcony which was on the 6th floor. The lifts are tiny and really slow. Our room was nice although smaller than I thought it would be. To be honest paying extra for the balcony was a waste as the balcony was tiny and there were no chairs on it so pretty pointless really. Unfortunately the photos on the website and trip advisor are a tad misleading as I was expecting a couple of chairs out there. However the bed was really comfortable and the views of the Pantheon were amazing. Breakfast was OK although I felt that the pastries could’ve been fresher. This maybe due to us being there over New Year. The breakfast room is also quite small and cramped especially at peak breakfast times. However, the tea and coffees were excellent and served quickly. As we were there for New Years Eve, the roof terrace was open and we were served with a glass of Prosecco and slice of panettone whilst we watched the fireworks around the city. This was fabulous for me as i struggle with crowds. Overall we enjoyed staying here and it was in an excellent location with all landmarks in easy walking distance.…
I chose Albergo del Senato for a Christmas vacation, without really knowing much about the property. All I can say is the choice was fortuitous. They helped arrange transportation from the airport and greeted my daughter and I will warmth and professionalism. That is such a hard balance to achieve, but they manage it with grace. I think they remember our names and interests right from the beginning. We had great weather and sitting at the tables in the piazza there at the Pantheon was amazing. And, we could walk everywhere. On their recommendation, we chose to take a taxi to the Borghese, because it was uphill and reservations are time-sensitive, then walked back (also as recommended). We loved our stay and will return.
Being located right on the Piazza della Rontonda where the Pantheon is located might feel too busy, but the hotel is a lovely, calm retreat from the touristy bustle outside. The front desk staff is incredibly warm and kind and made the hotel feel like home. Our small room was perfectly appointed, with high ceilings and an amazing postcard view of the Pantheon. It felt like being in a movie! Great roof deck (though we visited in winter so we didn’t spend tons of time up there), nice bar, and good breakfast every morning. We loved our stay and hope to return.
