It's seldom one encounters a hotel where every staff person is as gracious, helpful and professional as the staff at Nerva Boutique. I realize this is a function of each individual and also of management and training, so I have the highest regard for all that goes into providing a superior guest experience here. Our family occupied four rooms during our Christmas holiday stay so much could have gone wrong but nothing did. Rooms are modest size but efficient and well furnished. Showers are a generous size and beautifully updated. Housekeeping does a great job of maintaining a crisp and pristine environment. Breakfasts, light lunches and drinks are all served quickly, with attention to detail by staff persons endowed with great generosity of spirit! The location on a side street helps ensure quiet nights as well as easy access to all that is iconic and historical in Rome. This was my fifth trip to Rome, but in the future, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

great location, and wonderful room, but it is the staff that make it such an enjoyable experience. Pleasant bar and breakfast room. Highly recommend this hotel! It is very close to the Roman Forum and many cute cafes in the Monti area, just delightful experience!

We booked this hotel because of its location near the ancient ruins in Rome; there is an ancient ruin across from the hotel currently being worked on. The Coliseum was only a 10-minute walk, as were two metro stations. We let them know we were there on our honeymoon and they surprised us with champagne and strawberries. To our surprise, our hotel room had two bathrooms so we had plenty of room to get ready. They also gave us a new bottle of water daily so we never had to worry about finding our water at night. Everyone was polite. When it was raining outside, they let us use the hotel umbrellas. When we go back to Rome, we would stay there again.

Hotel located next to the Roman Forum, 5 min walk from the Colosseum or the altar of the Fatherland.
My wife and I took a premium suite with a private terrace and I must say that the room was really well maintained,
Composed of two rooms and divided by a corridor there is a small sitting room where you can relax, 2 small bathrooms but still very nice both, and equipped with all the comforts that a 4-star must have.
The terrace outside a gem, absolute privacy being surrounded by walls but still very relaxing, perfect for an aperitif or to be quiet...
The only thing I would recommend concerns the soundproofing of the room, I think it should be improved because in the early morning you could hear noises coming from the bar near the room that served breakfast, also a toothbrush kit toothpaste I think you can stay in given the price of the stay ..
Hotel staff always very kind and helpful, however I recommend it.

I selected the Nerva hotel after searching several review sites and looking for someone centrally located and smaller boutique style for my 3 night stay as a solo travel first visit to Rome.

Check-in/Staff
Even before arriving their staff helped with suggestions by emails, answering various questions and making bookings for airport transfers and several private tours of Rome. I arrived later afternoon, and was greeted by the happiest person and biggest smile by Charlotte at the front desk. Check in was painless, with explanation of a few things such as breakfast time

Room:
My room was a singles room as I am a solo traveler. It is small but cozy and comfortable single bed. There is a closet with plenty of hangers, a small mini bar, hair dryer and small safe with an actual key rather than a Digital lock. There is a single seat and small table. Bed was comfortable and linens soft.
Bathroom is very small especially for taller people (I’m 6’4). But the shower had enough space. They do have soaps for the bathroom and shower included, as well as large towel.
There is adequate lighting and the ventilation/AC was fine. There was a single window that opened into a small inner courtyard. Instead of a key card you use a key to activate the power for the room and it turns off when you leave.
My only small issues with the room is it has only a single power outlet located in the bathroom which made it harder to charge a laptop while using it, or charge multiple devices. Wi-Fi speed is adequate but not stellar but fine for everyday use. I would have liked to see a bit larger table next to the chair to be able to put a laptop on.
The hotel has an elevator, but my room was only 1 story up with the stairs right by the entrance.

Breakfast/Food
I had the included breakfast each morning and they have a nice selection with table service in their small dining area. It was nice to sit in the morning with the windows open sipping tea and having breakfast. All the selections I had were good, and service was prompt, efficient and very friendly.
They have drinks available in the evening in the lounge area, but no food during the day or at night, just peanuts/chips with the drinks.
The minibar in the room has a few small snacks and beverages, but they are very small size. It was easier to get larger drinks at convenience stores just around the corner.
The staff have a list of recommended restaurants in different areas for lunch or dinner and can help with reservations. I highly recommend getting them to reserve if it’s weekend as most places are very busy.

Location
The location is about as central as you can get in Rome. I was able to walk to all the major attractions, and there were plenty of restaurants and stores within a few blocks. The hotel is on a back side street, but there were plenty of people walking at night so I never felt unsafe even late at night, although I was always wary of pickpockets. The tours arranged by the hotel were excellent, and very informative.

Overall a very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again if I returned to Rome.

Nerva Boutique Hotel is a perfect hotel to stay at in Rome! The location is so close to the Colosseum and Roman Forum, and then an easy walk to all other sites in Rome. The location is on a side street, that allows guests to easily sleep without loud outside noises. The entire staff are friendly and helpful. The Front Desk Clerks are all qualified to answer questions and engage in great conversations. The rooms are clean and inviting, and the lounge is set up for enjoying throughout the day and evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and its remarkable location – right beside the Forum and Colosseum. This proximity provided made exploring these iconic sites a breeze but slightly off the main tourist route so more peaceful than many of the hotels in Rome.

The staff were very friendly and attentive which set a welcoming tone for our stay. They provided an excellent list of recommendations for restaurants, cafes and bars which we followed and were never disappointed by any of them.

The room was very well appointed and thoughtfully equipped. Considering the hotel's central location in an old city, the room size was on the smaller side but did not hinder the overall comfort.

The main floor bar offered an excellent selection of drinks in a cozy setting – perfect for unwinding before heading out or ending the day on a relaxing note.

The unbeatable location, accommodating staff, and cozy amenities make it a solid choice for travelers looking to experience the best of Rome without compromising on comfort.

The Hotel Nerva is a beautiful, well run, boutique hotel on a quiet street in the middle of historic Rome. The staff are amazing: so warm, so friendly, yet so professional. We have just returned from a wonderful week there and are already planning our return. The hotel's central location meant that we could walk almost everywhere we needed to go: the Vatican, the Ghetto, Trastevere, Sta Maria Maggiore, Sta Sabina...! But the Monti area where the hotel is located is particularly attractive. Thanks to an outstanding set of restaurant recommendations provided by the hotel, we were able to dine locally every night which was very welcome. We would highly recommend this hotel and we can't wait to return.

We had no idea where to stay in Rome, so we referenced Rick Steves guide to Italy and Nerva was one of his recommended hotels. Everyone working at Nerva was so kind and incredible- it really felt like a home-base for us when we were there.

When we walked in, the weather was not great. They let us check-in right away even though we were so early, they gave us umbrellas and printed us a huge list of recommended restaurants and charted them out on a map for us. Their recommendations were unreal and they helped us get a reservation for dinner every night.

The hotel was so clean, in an amazing location and an incredible value. Could not recommend more and if I ever go back to Rome, I will be staying there again. Thank you!

Perfect location in Rome! The staff at every level were professional, kind and efficient making every effort possible to welcome and host the 5 members in our party. We asked for assistance with limo service to and from train station and airport - all without a hitch. Our room was cleaned and serviced daily, and the kitchen staff prepared excellent food for breakfast and lunch and were very entertaining. In our view, we made new friends in Rome!

On foot 2 km so a good 20-25 minutes. Pretty straightforward route except a few cobbles and hills on the final approach to the hotel. Taxis stuck in traffic anyway so walking could be worthwhile.
