We stayed here for 5 nights during our visit to Rome. Location of the hotel is near Bologna metro station which connects you with all major city attractions. City center is also 40-45 minute walk from hotel (with La Romana - fantastic ice cream places on way to city center). Area is quite and safe, with lot options for food near hotel ( check out Momart).
Rooms are very clean and spacious. You will enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast on beautiful veranda.
Stuff in the hotel are amazing. They are very helpful and polite.
Definitely fantastic place to stay in Rome! Would recommend to everyone who wants to stay near center but in quite neighborhood.

Charming hotel located in a quiet and safe area (Nomentana close to embassies). 10 minutes walk from metro station Bologna and 4-5 stations from Colosseo. Few groceries shops close to Bologna and restaurants (Ciro pizzeria on Piazza Bologna street is the best family owned restaurant where we dined 3 times during our stay).

The hotel owner is very helpful, sympathetic and attentive to our needs. Room are European sizes (we are in the room only to sleep and take a shower after all!) and clean.
Breakfast is continental italien (crostata, cheese, cold cuts, yogurts, croissants, juices, etc) and offer a variety of coffees freshly made for you.
I will definitely return on my trip to Rome.

A beautiful 100 years old villa turned into a small hotel located in a quiet area close to Piazza Bologna. I've learnt to avoid loud and crowded city centers so Villa Pirandello seemed to be the best choice. And it was. There were some small hickups, like water on our bathroom's floor after a shower but altogether I'd recommend this place. The staff is amazing and friendly, breakfast room simply gorgeous, breakfast itself quite basic but for Italian standards we can call it a feast. The room is spacious and bed very comfortable. And the bus stop is literally 3 minutes from the hotel. 9/10 from me.

Dreadful customer service. Wrecked a special weekend with my sisters. Please avoid Villa Pirandello if you want to be treated with respect and courtesy. I would say that the marketing and descriptions of Villa Pirandello are vastly exaggerated. Am so disappointed.

My niece and I stayed for 3 nights while we waited on an emergency passport to be issued. We received the warmest welcome from Jacopo. The rooms were beautifully set out, clean and cosy. So close to the embassies, city and shops. Very safe area. We loved this hotel, it provided such a restful stay, and nothing was a challenge for the staff. They bent over backwards for us and were so gracious.

The breakfast was amazing. Great selection of different foods and great coffee. I have Coeliac disease and cannot eat wheat and was so happy to see all the Gluten Free bread and cakes available. Made my day.

An unforgettable stay - highly recommended if in Rome. Thank you Jacopo.

The reviews for this hotel raise expectations. And while I agree with most reviews in part, I would also advise that you temper your expectations as this hotel is good but not great. The first problem for me and, based on conversations at breakfast , many others, was the difficulty in finding the hotel. Although I was told repeatedly what a short distance it was from the metro, the university etc, it is nevertheless difficult to find without google maps and lots of direction asking. Second is the state of the hotel; again good and at first sight an oasis of calm in the heat but a bucket to catch drips of water from the ceiling and crumbling paint on the walls, suggests that this oasis could do with a refurb. My room was on the ground floor, and again it was fine. But the room got very hot in the night and the shower did not work. Finally the breakfast; at first glance an excellent spread bustling with choice with one exception; the availability of toast at 8.15am as it had to be collected from the local supermarket ! As I said, the hotel is good and the staff are very well meaning but do not be lured into expecting anything more than average.

At Villa Piradello, the cons beats the pros.

We choose this hotel based on price and location. It turned out that the hotel was further from the city center, then we imagined - and yes, we did check the map before ordering.

Postive:

- Fresh and modern rooms.
- Great, quiet and safe area, surrounded by parks and the embassy of Australia and Quatar.
- Lovely lounge with newspapers fresh from the news stand. There is also an iPad 2 availible for use, free of charge.
- Good breakfast.
- Friendly staff.

Negative:

- The hotel is on the wrong side of the city, if you are visiting as a tourist. I am a great fan of walking when I am visting a new place, but when it takes 25 minutes of walking next to a car infected road to get to the first big tourist magnet (Santa Maria Della Vittoria), it is clear that this hotel is not in a good location. Do you want to have a 25 min to walk home, after walking all day? Note: When arriving at Santa Maria Della Vittoria, you still have hours of walking left, to get to the most famous sites, as you came from the wrong direction.

From the train station Termini it takes 30 minutes of walking to get to the hotel, therefore we took a taxi the first time, to arrive at the hotel. It's 9€ for a cab ride (only 4,5€ if you split the bill with your traveller)

This was my first trip to Rome and I found that the location of the Hotel Villa Pirandello was good. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the metro at Bologna and then a few stops on a direct metro line to the Colosseum which is a good place to start exploring Rome. The reception staff were informative and friendly providing a map and useful information on arrival, the buffet style breakfast was great with fresh coffee, juices, home made cakes, cheese, bread, ham, yoghurt and fruit. The room was quiet and clean, and the neighbourhood felt safe to walk around at night.
To get to the hotel I took the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino airport to Termini which costs 14 euros. From Termini you can then taken the blue line metro in the direction of Ribibbia/Conco D'Oro. Get off the metro at Bologna. As you exit through the turnstiles at Bologna turn left and take the left hand set of stairs to Via Ravenna, walk up Via Ravenna for about 5 minutes and turn right up Viale de Villa Massimo, you then take the first left into Via Antonio Bosio (the road name is on a gate pillar on the left), walk up Via Antonio Bosio and cross over at the crossroads, Villa Pirandello is at number 15 (the hotel sign is not very big). One metro trip costs 1.5 euros or you can get a BTI pass for 3 days from one of the ticket machines in the metro station which covers all your trips for 3 days on metro and bus which costs 16.50 euros. Bring some mosquito repellant with you if you plan on being outside in the evening.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here and enjoyed our stay very much. Although not situated in the heart of Rome, the hotel is located in a lovely neighborhood with easy access to buses and the metro. The staff was very helpful in terms of providing us with maps, directions, and recommendations for dinner at local restaurants. Breakfast was quite good. Although no hot food was offered, there was a good selection of cured meats, fruit, cheeses, breads and croissants, and pastries. Everything was fresh and delicious. We stayed in room 23, which was large, lovely, immaculate, and very quiet. The bathroom was well-appointed, with adequate shelving to store personal items. The shower, however, was very cramped, with no place other than the floor to put shampoo, etc. In addition, the shower “door” was made up of several sliding plastic panels which didn’t quite line up or connect seamlessly, thus leaving gaps where the water could go through onto the bathroom floor. Overall a minor drawback, and I would certainly stay here again.

Dear Jandtbun, From Termini Station (the main railroad here in Roma) you can: a) Take the bus n.82 or 66. Get off at the bus stop Torlonia/Nomentana, which is 250 meters from our hotel (Take in consideration this option, specially if you have bulky luggage). b) Take the metro (blue line) direction Rebibbia, getting out at Bologna Station - which is 750 mts from Villa Pirandello Hotel. Tkts are the same for metro & buses. One way tkt costs 1,50 euro and can be used for another 100 minutes, switching whichever thains or buses. It must be validated as you take your first ride (look for the yellow machines inside the bus). For further information, please don't hesitate to write us. Villa Pirandello Staff

hi anyone know the rough tube times from the bolgana tube station to the Vatican musuems and colosseum please.
Answer from VillaPirandello
Rome, Italy
Dear guest, From P.za Bologna (B line) to the Colosseum (5 stops), about 7 minutes. From P.za Bologna to Vatican Museum take the metro (Laurentina direction) for 3 stops. Get off at Termini Station. Take the metro (A line) to Battistini direction, getting off at Ottaviano San Pietro Station, or Cipro Musei Vaticani, it's about 20 minutes. Best regards Villa Pirandello Staff
