I stayed at Hotel Napoleon in April 2017 and I couldn't have been happier. The English speaking staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed, and I had a little balcony, which was lovely. The breakfast buffet was good and the coffee is delicious! The metro station entrance for Vittorio Emmanuelle II is...

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Napoleon for five days. The whole staff caters to your every need. The rooms are sparkling clean and very pleasant. The free breakfast boasts eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, toast, juice, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, etc, etc,.Definitely the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. An added bonus is that it is within walking distance...

I'm currently staying here for 5 nights. It's a great hotel in a fabulous location. It's right across from a Metro station and only 10 mins walk to the Colosseum. The staff are all lovely and so helpful. The rooms are really comfortable, clean and have everything you need. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rome.

I stayed in this hotel 3 years ago. This time, I went with my parents so we got a triple room. The room was good size. Staff was very friendly. Roberto (the manager) was professional and remember everyone's name. He was also helpful and provided man information. Breakfast room staff are also very nice. I will recommend to book their...

The people couldn't be nicer at this hotel, which is a stone's throw to the Metro and very close to the train station. It was a wonderful base of operations for our 4 day Rome stay. We took advantage of the pick up at the Rome airport and it was a godsend- everything worked smoothly with the driver waiting for...

We stayed here in two rooms for four nights during a recent trip to Rome. By contacting the hotel directly by email we were able to negotiate a better rate than we found on the online booking services as well as some extras listed below. Everyone seems to struggle with the best way to get to the city from the...

Had heard good reviews about the hotel. They were true. Staff are very helpful, breakfast is yummy and sets you up for the day. Location is good, next to Metro, 15 min walk from coliseum. Be sure to go to the free cocktail welcome on the Saturday eve.

We just came back from Rome, having stayed at Hotel Napoleon for 5 nights. The hotel is exactly what you see on their website. The moment you step in, you can feel as if you are transported back in time with its decor and lovely art paintings which are displayed all over the lounge. The rate is reasonable compared to...

A wonderful gem of a hotel near the train station, next to the metro (subway) stop and walking distance to the Colosseum! I happened to spend my birthday during my stay and they knew it (without me saying a word) and sent a bottle of champagne to my room! An employee greeted me and wished me happy birthday after we...

The best place that I stayed in Italy. The rooms are large and clean, the breakfast was above par with everything you need, and the staff was very friendly. Good location. I can´t wait to stay there again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
