We spent our final vacation night in Rome at the Napoleon and discovered one of Rome's hidden gems. The staf was very engaging and accommodating. Arriving on a Friday afternoon, we were invited to attend that evening's Happy Hour referred to as "A Friendly Time", of wine tasting and local hors d'oeuvres. After a delicious lunch in the hotel restaurant...

Stayed in Hotel Napoleon for 4 nights based on brothers recommendation. Location was good, with most sights within 20 min walk. In rome, its hard not to walk with so many beautiful buildings to look at so make sure to bring walking shoes! Reserved a deluxe room with extra large bed. Room was spacious compared to other European hotels, bed...

Just returned from a four-night stay. Our room was a good size - we pushed the boat out and booked one of their larger ones. A tasty breakfast spread awaits you in the morning, all the usual choices of cold meats, fruit cheese, eggs, bacon, etc. The metro is outside, we found the tram across the square useful as well,...

Hotel Napoleon was really fantastic choice for a long weekend trip with two teenagers. The triple room was perfect, clean and very private. Everything worked like a dream. We especially enjoyed the lovely staff (Mary and Sarah) and very helpfull Concierge, who was able to help us with all the possible questions, that we had many. Location was very good,...

I chose this hotel for celebrating my birthday and had the best time. The Concierge staff were polite, well-trained and respectful and also provided better tourist advises than my guide or travel agency (ask the reception for Mr. Franco). Being for the first time in Rome, the initial impression was important and this family-run hotel exceeded my expectations. I travel...

My Husband and I made a return trip the the Hotel Napoleon. The hotel is in a great location and the staff have helped us with any other plans we needed. The rooms are great and anything we needed was a phone call away. The manager, Roberto, and his staff are wonderful and we will stay there again. Jill D'Amico

This was my first visit to Rome. The hotel made me very welcome, and the reception gave good advice on what to do and where to go. It is well situated near the station (with the train service to/from Fiumicino airport) and only some 15 minutes walk from the Colosseum; also next to a metro station with trains to other...

This hotel is a great value for tourist. The location down the street from the Collusim/Forum was nice. With the subway just out the front door any destination in Rome is easy and fast to get to. There are more modern updated hotels in Rome but the service you get at this hotel is on par with the best. Roberto...

How this hotel got into a top hundred hotels of Rome is beyond me. I had a single room which was the size of a walk-in closet, twin bed, and an old TV. It had a balcony facing somewhere on the back. $100 a night, and that was supposedly cheap. The room was pretty old and not renovated recently. The...

Dear Guest, I apologize for the inconveniences incurred on your stay. Honestly for what I can understand from your review the room we gave you was one of the two old single rooms that are not yet renovated. I must presume that the day of the arrival the hotel was full, because we do not use those rooms if we...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
