Small but well maintained rooms. Ideal for a couple. Breakfast was exemplary and had a large spread served in a convenient restaurant type set up. The staff was very helpful in guiding us around. The Termini and Pretorio stations are very walkable and therefore very easy to commute around. There are also reasonably priced restaurants nearby and a mini store...

Great friendly stuff always ready to help. Very comfy bed and spotless bathroom, good breakfast and varied. As for location it is great close to train station and to airport shuttle services. Most of the key historical sites are within walking distance. Our room was on the facade and although there are some restaurants close by it was still a...

This hotel is near the main train station but no really central compared to Spanish Step or Pantheon. Typical small room but old and seem like they don't care to fix or doing any upgrades. Not good service as well, but they have continental breakfast and nice lounge.

We had 3 nights here in a very spacious triple room. plenty of space for bags, our belongings and walking around room. Didn't use the TV. Safe in wardrobe, well maintained room, bathroom spotless, only a leak from shower that we couldn't figure out so seal on the shower panel probably needs replacing. Front desk very tidy, friendly staff, plenty...

This was a great hotel to start our trip. It was simple yet exactly what we needed. Our room faced an internal courtyard which made it quieter. The bathroom was functional yet small. Ours was oddly laid out so it made it a bit complicated to get in and out of. Besides that, it gave us everything we needed, was...

This hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Termini Station. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were older and small, but what you would expect for this price point. The neighborhood was average. The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but certainly had enough choices. It didn't open until 8 am, which was a problem on...

Dear Guest, we have just read your review on tripadvisor and we regret that we were not up to his expectations. We didn't understand this phrase: "It didn't open until 8 am, which was a problem on days we left earlier to go on tours. " Our breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am so what do you...

Out of 3 hotels we stayed in during a 9-day visit to Italy, this hotel rates at the bottom. We stayed in Room 601, which was very cramped, no place to put luggage, and wi-if that worked less than 50% of the time. But our chief complaint was the shower, which is peculiarly designed to leak water all over the...

I took my wife on a surprise break to celebrate her 70th Birthday and we spent 3nights at The Villafranca. It is conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from the main Termini where there is also a Big Bus pick up point for their excellent open top hop on hop off tours. The Receptionist was excellent and we were...

Dear Guest, thank you so much for choosing our hotel and for writing this review on trip advisor. We would like to answer you about the breakfast service. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10.00 am; you're probably come down to the closing time and for that reason had not been replaced the buffet. We guarantee we're going to...

Stayed here for a couple of days in April 17. The rooms are well decorated and very clean. The service offered was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel even for its location near Castro Pretorio metro stop.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
