Hotel Canada offered efficient friendly service, rooms decorated in a traditional and tasteful style, and a very convenient location just a short walk from the Termini. Super clean and super quiet (we were on the 5th floor with a room facing the rear of the building) The staff serving the excellent breakfasts offered wonderful service and were very friendly. I...

It is really hard to find any criticisms about this lovely and extremely well run hotel. There are two slight negatives which should be covered first before getting on to the many many positives about this hotel. Firstly was the lack of electric sockets; there were only two available which were at skirting board level meaning to get to them...

Stayed here for our last 3 nights in Italy and we were extremely happy with our choice. Got a free upgrade to a very large corner room. The breakfasts were above average and the front counter staff couldn't be any more accommodating. The metro is right around the corner and the train station a 5 minute walk away. Everything was...

Quiet, gracious and quaint hotel with all the perks. Spacious bar with snacks in the evening, fabulous breakfast buffet, wonderful beds, close to many restaurants and very accomodating staff. Blocks to train station and tour bus pickups.

We stayed there for two days - we liked almost everything, except a very narrow bathtub (no possible to sit down comfortely, taking into account that we have 38 size in clothes:). Rooms were remarkable!! Veru high ceilings, all decorated subtly, spacious rooms. Delicious B/F, although we did miss tea-making facilities in the room... Staff worth a separate mentioning... Especially...

I travel 75-100 nights per year...Hilton Diamond member for 15 years. In May 2011, we had the opportunity to make a 14 day run through Europe - Rome, Santa Margherita di Pula (on the island of Sardinia), London and Paris. Only drawback was having to quickly make all the hotel reservations with < 2 weeks notice. This hotel was the...

Everything about this hotel was wonderful but they say a picture is worth a thousand words so I took several. This has to be the best breakfast in the city (see pictures) and our room had the only walk out balcony (facing inside) with plants. We spent many a night sitting on that balcony and dreaming about the breakfast. All...

A very good estabishment with a noticeable focus on quality. The rooms are comfortable. Ours was a reasonable size but our friends had one large enough for a sofa. Both rooms faced the main road so we could not sleep with our windows open. The bathrooms were large with nice amenities. The breakfast was well thoughtout and prepared. The staff...

Not much more to add to all the positive reviews about this hotel. A real gem. Very professional from the reservation department (Nicole) to the front desk, the concierge service, the bar man, and the staff at breakfast. Our trip to Rome was a total success, thanks to this hotel !

Very good hotel Very good hotel packed with all facilities. Location is also very good which is in close proximity with several places that you would like to see on your stay. While we stayed in the hotel we enjoyed every moment and relished a lot on the delicious cuisines. Felt at home with wonderful hospitality.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In an elegant historic building in the centre of Rome, the Hotel Canada represents the outcome of Hoteliers' generations experience. It shows the ancient tradition of hospitality that renews itself every day. A recent refurbishment has rediscovered the original architecture of the building. It was constructed in 1870 in order to provide accommodation for officers from the nearby barracks of Castro Pretorio. The Hotel Canada is easily reachable from "Termini Station" (500 m), the most important station of the Eternal City and the main rail yard of Italy. This Station is well connected with both airports of Rome: Roma Leonardo da Vinci/ Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino. The Hotel Canada is located in an ideal spot to visit the very historic centre of Rome. It is close to the subway (Line B, Castro Pretorio's stop) that allows every guest to reach the downtown in just a few minutes. ... more   less
