After hot and exhausting days in Rome, we always looked forward to returning to the hotel as it is welcoming and the rooms have great A/C. The cleaning service was fabulous and it took a porter less than one minute to come to our room when we called the desk about a problem with the tv. The free buffet on...

Stay else where. We were treated poorly. Our room flooded because the shower clogged and smelled of mildew for the duration of our trip.

What a FABULOUS hotel (even more so for the price since we booked through priceline bidding)! This was our last stop in Italy and the staff was the nicest we encountered in all of the country. Finally, we received a map from a hotel and it turned out to be so useful. They have porters carry your bags. The rooms...

We are just leaving this hotel this morning and have had a wonderful stay. The Assistant Manager Alessandro was very welcoming and informative. We requested a room on a high floor and this was accommodated with no problems at all. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the bathroom was nice and modern. Thanks for a great stay! If we ever got...

We stayed as 2 couples in July and have nothing but praise for this hotel! Rooms were very clean and tidy and well appointed. The staff were lovely and very helpful-all questions answered with a smile! The concierge was a real character and charming too! The rooftop bar is such a bonus in a city and was a lovely place to...

This is a certain gem in a very large city. The rooftop restaurant was a superb ending to each evening. Alessandro at front desk knew our answers before we even asked them. Wonderful breakfast included. We got same 4 rooms before and after our cruise. Each one was specially decorated.

We read reviews prior to booking and some of the bad ones were really off-putting. However, the majority seemed positive so we crossed fingers and went with the flow. I’m glad we did. I don’t recognise the hotel from some of the negative comments. On the downside, the room was a squeeze and could have done with another metre or...

This is excellence! After big disappointments in Venice and Florence, the Marcella Royal was a godsend. From the amazing, kind and helpful staff to the smallish but beautifully appointed rooms, to the rooftop bistro, you'll experience the epitome of the boutique hotel experience. This hotel is a "10", pure and simple. They wrote the book on service AND style.

We upgraded to the superior double. The room was recently renovated which was very nice. However, the first night, the AC did not appear to be up to par and it was near 100 farenheit outside. The hotel put us in a junior suite which, despite it's price, was not as nice as our original room, in our opinion. The...

Took my mom to Rome for the long weekend and chose this hotel because mainly of the location and roofterrace. Pros: if you can get an offer for this hotel, can be good value for money. Roof top terrace is very nice, especially in summer - had there breakfast every morning and drinks in the evening. Also had a little...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
