Following the recommendation of a friend to stay at this hotel I am grateful that we did. From the moment I went on line to book direct I received continued contact with the hotel. Due to the fact it was going to be both a special birthday celebration and our first visit to Rome we expected it to be great....

This is an excellent hotel in a very central location. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfectly clean and well maintained and the free mini bar ( containing water, juices and beers) was refilled every day in addition to the tea and coffee making facilities. The rooftop bar and restaurant was exceptional - lovely food at reasonable...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Everyone was so pleasant (honestly - everyone from main, restaurant, bar, front desk, bell man)...the location is great (we walked to the Roman ruins, the vatican (a bit longer - and we did metro one way) and then other main tourist sites (also close to metro should you prefer that option)....the room was QUIET...

This is a hotel which met or exceeded all our expectations. Having flown into Fiumicino we caught the non-stop train into Rome's Termini Station and the hotel is only a short walk. It is very well positioned on Via Nazionale, so for our stay we walked everywhere. The Reception Staff were very friendly and our room was well equipped, with...

This was our first trip to Rome so we spent ages sorting through pages of hotels, comparing the walking distance to every major attraction, checking transport links, restaurants, etc, etc... so now I'll just save anyone reading this the hassle and say this: Stay here! The location is fantastic - it's within easy walking distance to virtually everywhere (except The...

We stayed for 5 nights, this hotel it is right in the heart of Rome. The Metro is metres away so location could not be better! Staff were friendly and helpful with directions and general advice getting around. The breakfast was amazing everyday and the rooftop restaurant is a sight to see, we loved Rome and this hotel made our...

On our first trip to Rome we were so happy we booked this hotel. From the minute we checked in the staff was friendly , gracious and happy to help with confirming our tours and giving us information about the area. On our arrival they had a fruit basket to welcome us and our free minibar was restocked every day...

I planned this trip months in advance to celebrate my daughter's XV birthday. A few weeks before our trip our home was broken into and they took everything. I almost cancelled it. I'm glad I didn't. A couple of days before arriving I emailed the WONDERFUL staff of Hotel Artemide requesting a little surprise for my daughter to make her...

This is a lovely hotel, perfectly situated to see all the sights and for shopping too! The rooms are lovely, and the staff, ALL the staff, were absolutely fantastic. I have never stayed at a city centre hotel that has made me feel so at home. Three of us stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in a junior suite...

This hotel is new and modern. The staff are very helpful and friendly from the front desk, spa, and rooftop restaurant/bar. We usually had drinks on the roof every night before we went out and it is a great atmosphere. We went to the spa on two of the days we were there and it was very relaxing. My girlfriend...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
