The location is wonderful. The historic building added to the experience. Service at the desk was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Recommend this hotel to anyone for their visit to Rome. The hotel has wifi that we found was a little weak up in our room but seemed to work well downstairs in the designated wifi area.

We had a very spacious room and the staff was incredibly warm and accommodating. The breakfast was a little spartan...but there was plenty of coffee (American) and they never ran out of anything. The big selling points here are the courtyard, the geography, and the history. It's 1 1/2 blocks from St. Peter's Square. 15 minute walk to the Pantheon...

I stayed at this hotel with my family a week ago. We had separate rooms. Me and my sister shared one with separate beds and my parents had one big bed. The hotel is very beautiful and reminds you of the location where you are (very near the Vatican). You can see the Vatican when you look out of your...

Former Palace/Monastery containing many of the original features, beautiful marble staircases and Frescoes. Amazing staff who were always pleasant and helpful. Spacious and spotlessly clean en suite rooms Within walking distance of all the main attractions and 2 minutes walk from the Vatican.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. To be able to take ten steps out from the hotel's front walk and see the Saint Peter's Basilica looming large over you is quite unbelievable. You are only a few meters from everything Vatican. The hotel is a 600 year old former religious house. The bathroom was quite modern, with a wonderful...

Wonderful!!! It' an historical structured in the main center of Rome, spectacular! The room was very simply but all the structure is wonderful, full of frescoes, statues and paintings. Behind the "Cappella Sistina" the position is very good for all the visits of the city!

You enter this hotel and get a WOW feeling - great location, amazing historical atmosphere (it's an old monastery), impressive paintings on the old walls, preserved painting on the ceilings, well kept old stone stairs, a very nice restaurant "La Terassa" and friendly and helpful staff..... and then you get the key to your room... first warning is the elevator...

Also walking distance to Castel Sant'Angelo, 20 minutes walk to Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, 40 minutes to Pantheon. So, a very good location for visiting the city. Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
