We stayed at hotel Cortina for a long weekend. It was our second visit to this hotel. The rooms are clean, with very good beds and the owner is friendly and helpful. There is always someone around in the reception to answer your questions. The hotel is quite easy to reach, only a few blocks from Termini station. All the...

I stayed at Hotel Cortina as a single traveller five years ago, and had a wonderful experience. My host Angelo was most helpfull and polite to assist me with suitable plans to tour the city. This time I experienced the new apartments, which were just amazing. They are actually as good as the photos (which is not usually the case...

This hotel offers a great location, excellent customer service, and their attention to detail is wonderful. The hotel is quaint, clean, homey and the breakfast buffet was very good. The only downside for us was the very firm bed, but this seemed to be the norm in Italy! I would stay here again.

We booked two rooms (one for 4 persons and the other for 2 persons). The one with 4 persons basically was a room for two with two extra beds!!! (there was no room to walk between the beds and the room was really tight). When we book a room for 4 we expect a slight bigger room than the room...

We stayed at this hotel last month and had an excellent experience. As other mentioned, the location was fabulous - we walked everywhere. The staff was extremely helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. We were able to open the window without noise problems, which was fortunate, since the room was quite warm. Breakfast was very good. The only...

We stayed at the Hotel Cortina in July, 2011. Our stay was amazing. The hotel was in a great location, central to many attractions. The rooms were lovely as well. The only two things we would like to see improved : 1) Breakfast selections could be increased a bit; 2) It would be nice if a cafe was available for...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
