We had three very pleasant days here. It's in a good location. We had a comfortable room, good breakfasts and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Wifi reception is excellent.
Would certainly use the Cortina again.
The hotel is very central to most attractions in Rome and the staff were very helpful with advising us on places to see and things to do! The breakfast was amazing!!! The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble!!...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

While the hotel is wonderful, and the location and service are perfect, it is a very small hotel with no communal area for the kids to go to when they get bored. Though we were only in the hotel for breakfast & to sleep, that's it. What will YOUR days be like in Rome? If you plan being out all day then I say go for it!
