My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the Hotel Cortina’s Apartment B – just perfect for 2 people and reasonably priced. The hotel arranged for a private car transfer from Rome Fiumicino Airport. The apartment is in a good, safe neighbourhood and in...More
We booked this hotel due to the positive reviews on this site. The hotel is within great proximity to Termini and is within walking distance of all the major sites in Rome, except for the Vatican City. It is lovely and clean and our room...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

While the hotel is wonderful, and the location and service are perfect, it is a very small hotel with no communal area for the kids to go to when they get bored. Though we were only in the hotel for breakfast & to sleep, that's it. What will YOUR days be like in Rome? If you plan being out all day then I say go for it!
