This is a small, basic hotel which somehow manages to be much more. This is primarily because of the excellent staff and the superb location. The staff could not seem to do enough for you. They were very giving with their time, whether you needed directions, reservations, or even a cup of espresso or tea. I could not ask for...

My boyfriend and I began and ended our trip to Italy in Rome. We stayed at Cortina both times. I also stayed here two years ago with my daughter. Hotel Cortina is a great value for your stay in Rome. The hotel has 14 rooms, plus 2 gorgeous apartments around the corner from the hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated and...

My partner & I stayed here for the last 3 nights just gone & can't speak highly enough of Hotel Cortina. It's great value for money noting the central location. The staff were helpful & made us feel very welcome. I found the room & hotel itself to be very clean & our linen seemed to be changed each day....

The Hotel Cortina is a small hotel (14 rooms) in Via Nazionale, 5 minutes walk from Piazza da Republica and the metro station Republica, and close to several bus stops (very central). The hotel is located in one floor of an old Italian building, and street entrance may seem weird, as it is only a tall wood door. But don't...

Really enjoyed staying in this hotel for the four nights I was in Rome. It is not a hotel in the traditional sense, instead it spans the second floor of a very large building. This only made it more enjoyable though as you enter through a lovely big hallway. The gentleman we met on arrival was very friendly and helpful...

Good position to all the sights but breakfast was awful. One morning the bread was not suitable for animals... very stale and dry bread. No fruit included.

Angelo is fabulous - arranges drivers for the lowest fees - to and from airport, to Sorrento, other areas as well. He also helped plan our walking tours! Hotel is clean, most comfortable beds, pillows and a/c of our Italy trip. Good breakfasts. Walking distance to many of Rome's attractions!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Cortina Hotel. I loved the walking distance from most major tourist attractions in Rome! The staff was friendly, willing to help at anytime. They even helped me book a tour to Pompeii, which made things a lot more easier for me. The room was comfortable and clean. The “Colazzione” was good. Nice hotel...

I stayed here a couple days before the cruise I went on. I couldn't be more happy with this place. The location was perfect for the rate they charged. You were 5 minutes from the Repubblica metro stop. Via Nazionale was a nice area with all the shops. The staff was amazing, they were all English speaking, and told you...

We stayed here for two nights while traveling through Rome further up north. Location: Via Nazionale is a great street with many shops and a couple of bars. Hotel Is one stop away from Roma Termini on the metro. Vatican Is further down the same train line (about 10minutes) or within a leisurely walking distance if you have the time....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
