Hotel AleXander is not your usual Hotel. The hotel is old and very charming. The room that we stayed in was large with a beautiful big bathroom. We arrived late at night and my daughter and I had to carry our luggage up to our room. The lift was working but because the hotel is old we still had quite...

We stayed here for four nights Ina long weekend break at the end of April. Having booked through an agent we were not 100% sure what to expect. However, having arrived and looked around we were pleasantly surprised at how good the location was, just off of Piazza Barberini. Not far to walk to either the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps...

There are so many good things to say about this hotel, my mother and I were more than pleased with our accommodation. We got a free upgrade at arrival and our room was perfect: nice mattresses, super clean, bathroom well equipped, enough space for our suitcases and great wifi connection. Staff was super welcoming and helpful from the beginning, they...

Good value for the price of the room, incredibly clean. High standard of service also. Only problem was I didn't realise that 'do not disturb' door handle hanging should be on at all times when in the room, as a member of staff at the hotel came into the room after 9pm, found this quite strange as most things are...

We were tired of fancy chain hotels and wanted to try a smaller Italian hotel in Rome. This was a great choice. Starting with the location - walking distance to the Spanish steps, Trivi Fountain, the Pantheon and a Metro station on the corner. Many restaurants nearby from smaller pizza and sandwich shops to nice Italian restaurants and even a...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
