Rome was the last stop of my week long Italian adventure with my sister and the best part of our entire trip! Thanks to B&B Zen Trastevere! It is in an extremely ideal location, a 3 minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Trastevere, one of Rome's best nightlife areas. At the same time, the apartment style B&B was...

The good - excellent location - within walking distance to wonderful restaurants and a great shopping market and coffee/bakery next door. The bad - I do agree with Rubybouvier's review - it is a hostel! The walls are paper thin - luckily the couple next door were quiet. The bathroom is the smallest I've seen in Europe. The breakfast is...

Davide is a lovely person, as is his sister. The location is excellent. Very central spot in Trastavere and it's also quiet and has a small balcony for each room. Now for the rest... The internet connection didn't work, the phone was out of service, the breakfast was inedible and the coffee maker was broken, so there was only lukewarm,...

Great B&B in a neighbourhood packed with restaurants and, if you like walking, in walking distance of many of the major sites. We had the red room which was clean and spacious with a nice firm bed. I loved the balcony even though it was still a bit too chilly to sit there for long. The owners are very friendly...

We chose the Trastevere neighborhood and B&B Zen based on the great reviews we saw online, and neither disappointed us! B&B Zen is a little gem - clean, comfortable, reasonable, and best of all - great service! It is family-owned and run by Davide, Desiree, and Katia, all of whom were super friendly and helpful. They gave great recos on...

We wanted to visit Rome and one of our friends suggested to stay in Trastevere. We searched for a friendly and charming place to stay and we decided to stay at Zen. We were delighted with the choice: the b&b is located at the heart of the neighbourhood, perfect to visit Trastevere. We loved it the area. The room was...

I researched places to stay extensively while planning our trip to Rome. Based on Trip Advisor reviews I chose Zen B&B in Trastevere. I am beyond delighted with the selection. I emailed Davide with every question that crossed my mind for months. He answered me quickly and graciously each time. He picked us up at Fiumicino Airport at 7am and...

The room with balcony was good; we enjoyed having our breakfast every morning on our balcony, or drinking a glass of wine after a day visiting Rome. The facilities were good and well-equiped and the colors of the room were bright. The location couldn't be better in my opinion: close to numerour bars, restaurants in Trastevere, and the highlights are...

This B&B was my best experience so far. The staff was nice, and helpful, we've got a lot of tips what to see, where to go (also they offered coupons to 3 of the local restaurants, so we could try them in a lower price and also got some surprises). The breakfast was various, we could choose from caffé, croissant,...

I am an artist and have travelled the world and stayed at numerous hotels. For my 40:th birthday I wanted to wake up in Rome and have a luccurious balcony breakfast. After hours in front of the screen I decided on Zen B&B for the homely and unpretentious feeling I got from the pictures. Everything I wanted and moore was...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The B & B Zen Trastevere is the fruit of an idea that has recently taken shape: to create a setting where guests are offered every kind of comfort in a colorful and carefree environment, and also a little oasis of peace right in the middle of the Eternal City. The B&B is centrally located, right on Viale Trastevere, but is set within a courtyard so it is quiet and peaceful. The B&B, which opened in early 2011 with three rooms, has recently acquired a second B&B on the same floor so now there are seven double bedrooms total. The new rooms have been decorated with the same simple philosophy as the original three rooms, using the colors and diversity that our clients have always been enthusiastic about. In apartment A there are 3 double rooms, one with private bath en suite, and 2 which share a bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning and free WIFI Internet connection 24 hours a day. The rooms are furnished with care and elegance, with colors that make them welcoming and relaxing. Upon request, a third bed can be added in each of these rooms. In apartment B there are 4 double rooms, each with its own bathroom (one is outside the room). All rooms have air conditioning and free WIFI Internet connection 24 hours a day. Upon request, a third bed can be added in two of these rooms.Room prices include a rich and hearty continental breakfast which is served in the kitchen of each apartment. At B&B Zen Trastevere you will be welcomed with courtesy and availability, and by the enchantment of the true essence of Italian style. ... more   less
