First of all, this is not a hotel room. It is an apartment room. The room wasnt us we had seen it in the pictures and the sheets were torn. The bed was really hard. Room service didnt exist (we stayed there for 3 nights and they only cleaned it once. The breakfast wasnt enough for the price (it was... More

Large, clean room with balcony, ensuite bathroom, close to Vatican. My husband and I were booked for a cruise departing from Civitavecchia the last week in May 2013 and we needed a 1 night accommodation after our flight. We found this place which met our needs. It was a quick 10 minute walk to the Vatican and less than a... More

Stayed here in Feb 2012 and loved it, yes was a trek to find it but find it ok we did and Vincenzo was waiting for as promised, despite us being late, no gripes! We had a room with bathroom facing the station, which was ok until we were woken up at 5.30am every morning by the trains braking into... More

Very clean, well- organised, friendly and centrally placed. The old shutter broke while we were there which was a little alarming, but he was fast to get into it. All three rooms share the balcony (with a view towards St Peters Basilica which is great for breakfast in the sun) so some co-operation is required. Highly recommended.

Dont expect a luxury hotel if you book this place. If you expect a luxurious, modern and clean B&B you have found the right place. Our room had a balcony which you share with 2 other rooms. The room we had (501) was the largest room and only 1 year old. The bathroom was a bit outdated, but it was... More

Just had 5 days staying at S. Pietro House. Well positioned a few minutes walk from S Pietro Roma railway station. Number 64 bus goes between here and Roma Termini stopping reasonably near many of the famous sites. On Wednesday morning traffic gets clogged with trippers coming to listen to the Pope, so probably better to get the train into... More

Brilliant location. What you see is what you get kind of place – the pictures listed on the site give an absolute sense of what to expect. Good bus and rail transport availability at walking distance. Breakfast could be further spruced up with fruits and maybe another croissants. Vincenzo, the owner, is helpful by providing us maps and telling us... More

Last Nov. was our third visit in Rome. This time we wanted to stay near the Vatican and San Pietro train station. We had a cruise to catch in Civitavechia and being near to the train station was important to us. After reading an excellent review of San Pietro house we booked our room. We emailed Vicensio (owner) , gave... More

We are just back from 4 nights at San Pietro House and can't rate it highly enough. It's tastefully decorated with all wooden floors and white furniture and is spotlessly clean with everything you need on a city break. Afer much research picked this small b&b for a wek's stay in Rome. Location was important as we wanted to be close to the Vatican. Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.

“The best rooms are on either end. The middle one is a little small, but fine. All rooms have good air con. Rome is a noisy, lively city that stays up late so don't expect quiet. Take earplugs if you cannot sleep with noise.”
