My wife and I stayed here in October 2013 and had a great time. It is close to the main railway station (Roma Termini) and metro station which makes getting around really easy. Emiliano, the host, is a great person and extremely helpful. From helping with your luggage to planning your itinerary, he is always there with a smiling face!...

Emiliano the host was very helpful, he emailed the day before we were due to arrive to ask an arrival time, we actually arrived earlier than expected but the maid (I think) let us into our room until Emiliano turned up to check us in. The room was very clean and although the bed was hard it wasn't uncomfortable. We...

No complaints at all. We were greated at the front door by the owner who had been expecting us, since I had emailed him our aproximate arrival time. He helped us plan our stay in rome and gave us all sorts of useful advices. Great hospitality, clean and tidy room and bathroom! Will definitely reccomend it!

Near Termini, few minutes by foot from Colloseo and Di trevi and Spagna. Team and Emiliano were great, They took care of us in best way. Breakfasts are really italian and great and service...

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great stay. The service was great, and the place was very clean. The location was just a short walk to the main train station (and underground lines) but we actually chose to walk, reaching the colosseum in under 45 mins. Would definitely recommend.

We were a group of 4 and we stayed in Guest Haus Praetorium 2nd week of May 2013. Our flight came in late in the evening so we took the bus from the airport to Termini station. It was about 11pm and we were so tired and the owner, Emiliano was eagerly waiting for us to assist us with our...

I travelled with my daughter and son in end April 2013 from Singapore. We were very lucky to stay at Guest Haus Praetorium for 4 nights. The owner Emiliano and his team were so helpful, lovely and wonderful. They gave us lots of advice on where to eat and what to do and did everything they could to make sure...

We stayed here at Guest Haus Praetorium for 2 nights in mid April 2013. We walked to it from Termini Station in under 10 minutes and found the area to be safe and quite classy down the Via del Castro Praetorio road. It's the North side of the Termini Station which is said to be much safer than the South...

I think it is only fair that someone tell the truth about this place. The only reason I gave it a 3 is because it was clean and the guy running it was nice and trying. Some of my complaints may or may not matter to you but at least it is the truth. In order of least to most...

I found this on hostelworld.com, but it certainly is not a hostel. Rather, it is a very well run Bed and Breakfast This is a FABULOUS place to stay. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Guest Haus. I am a 20 year old student who wanted a CLEAN and safe place to stay with 3 friends...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.

“The blue room (Via dei Mille side) was spacious but others may be bothered by the noise at the cafe below. The double rooms are located in front (Castro Pretorio) and more quiet at night when the windows are shut. Regardless of which part in Rome you stay, be prepared for the constant noise of sirens.”
