This is a small but functional hotel near Termini station and only a 10-min walk to the Colosseum and Forum. The room was cosy with a good-sized with a very comfortable double bed and good bedding. It had a reasonable shower area which was rectangular and larger than the small square ones you find in some basic hotels. There was...

In an excellent city centre location, a 10 minute walk from Termeni, and just beside the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Clean, with friendly staff. Some rooms quite small, and breakfast is in the hotel next door. And do remember to close the lift door properly or no one else can call it! Great value.

We stayed at the Hotel Montreal for our break in Rome and cannot fault it whatsoever. We were well aware that this was a three star hotel and therefore expected a basic yet comfortable stay. The hotel exceeded our expectation by far. The hotel itself is a lovely traditional building situated in a prime location that allowed us to walk...

Spent a long weekend (december 10-11-12) in Rome with the four of our family. Booked two rooms in this nice cosy hotel. Had a warm welcome upon arrival at the hotel. After signing in, received the keys for the rooms at the first floor. Romantic bedrooms together with a clean and good bathroom. Well equipped with small furniture, television, small...

I stayed in this hotel with my wife for 3 nights in November 2016. Following are the pros and cons of this hotel as per my point of view. Pros. 1. Very close to Roma Termini Metro Station and underground rail lines 2. Close to colosseum, Roman Forum and other attractions in Rome 3. Many restaurants and supermarkets are around...

This small hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the station, where we arrived on the Leonardo Express train from FCO airport. It's located on a busy road, a stone's throw from the impressive Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. Expect traffic noise if your room overlooks the street. It's not on the prettiest of streets but we felt safe enough....

Staff is wonderful and accommodating. They'll be happy to let you know of any extra costs as soon as it happens. I arrived in the middle of the night about 6 hours earlier than my parents did (who booked the room) and although I did have to book another room at the hotel while I slept off my jet lag,...

This hotel is in a perfect location in terms of the train station. It is about a 30 - 40 minute walk to the main tourist destinations such as Trevi and Colosseum - however this is a beautiful walk with much to take in on the way. I would recommend staying somewhere in this area more so than main tourist...

This location was excellent. This was down the street from St. Maria Maggiore. Lots of places to eat within 2 minutes. The termini station 5 minutes, hop on hop off bus pick up location 5 minutes. All walking distance. The staff very helpful and breakfast was included. The food was good.

A great place in terms of value for money. Good location, friendly staff and a fair enough breakfast. Rooms are clean and wifi works fine. Don't expect luxury (especially if you are not paying for it) but it has what you need for a few days in Rome.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
