We stayed early February for 6 nights in a privilege room. From check-in to checkout, the staff made us completely welcome, were courteous, helpful and professional. The location of the hotel is excellent, the view of the colosseum from the roof is superb. As a base to explore

The location is great as it is close to the colosseum and a lot of other main attractions; also mini market is not far away. Rooms are ok, breakfest also ok considering the reasonable price. Rooms with connecting door would be great.

We spent a week in Rome for our 30th anniversary and stayed at the Mercure Rome Colosseo Centre. It was a wonderful hotel and our view of the Colosseum did not disappoint! I wanted to be sure that the room had a private bathroom and it did. There was a a glass shower, toilet,

Very good 4* hotel. 5 mins walk to the colosseum. And you could literally walk to all the tourist spots in Rome including Vatican and termini station. Spent 3 nights here and not a single day do I take any public transport for sightseeing. Booked a privilege room and it was

Yes there is, but as rightly pointed out, there is an overheat auto cut-off which happens every few minutes.

The hotel will just be swiping your card for incidentals - which serves as your deposit. I don't recall having a floating amount in my card after that (I assume that it is reversed immediately). And yes, the city tax will be charged to your given card at the end of your stay. If I remember it correctly that's around 6 or 7 euros. You may want to check it from the reception. They are very helpful.

The transport system was a little hard to get used to but we honestly only used the metro to get everywhere. It's 1.50 euro one way but it basically leaves you close to everything. We never used the bus or anything else to get around .

I would just take either local transport or by cab which would probably cost between 30-40 Euros, obviously the bus would be cheaper. This hotel will be happy to arrange or advise.
