My husband and I decided to spend our 8th wedding anniversary in Rome this year and stayed in Westin Excelsior from 22 May to 27 May. We wanted to extend our stay for another 2 nights and conveyed our intention to the front desk on the 1st day we arrived, but was told we had to check back on the...

I stayed at the Savoy a couple of weeks ago with my mum and thought I would leave it a little while before writing my review as I didn't want to go over the top. In a summary the Hotel was OK, not great, not awful, but certainly not worth the money paid, our room was nothing like the picture...

We stayed at the Hotel Savoy in June for a few nights. The price was reasonable compared to other 4/5 stars hotels in the area. The hotel is in just off Via Vittorio Veneto, which is one of the most famous, elegant and expensive streets of Rome. We arrived at the Termini station and walked to the hotel with cases....

The hotel was very conveniently placed for sightseeing and the station. We walked with bags from the station with no problems. There is a tourist bus and metro station very close to the hotel for access to the Vatican City. On arrival at the hotel the receptionist gave us a map and explained where everything was and advised how to...

The Savoy is a great hotel. Rooms are comfortable, bed and pillow, washroom and all. In any case, when in Rome... one does not spend his/her time in it!! Overall a safe area to be in along with a very kind staff and management. We enjoyed our stay and thank the Staff for their smiles and kind assistance.

It is difiicult to express in words what Rome is. I have never been to a place so vibrant, brimming with history, magnificient architecture, sublime food and the excitement of stubbling across a lesser known piazza or church. The hotel is ideal as a base as, if you are prepared to do some walking, a lot of "attractions" are close...

When we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon there was a crowd at the front desk and only one person working behind. Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
