I stayed in this hotel the last week of July and found that the hotel met all expectations. Very close to all the major tourist attractions - the only disappointment was the breakfast which was ok, not great. The staff were very pleasant and the room was very nice, marble bathroom and air conditioning. In few mins walking distance to...

I stayed at the Diplomatic Hotel for 25th-29th June 2005 and would hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an over priced guest house in a central location. This hotel or should we say guest house has a very small reception area on the ground floor. The breakfast room and terrace are on the first floor with a...

Having stayed the previous week at a hotel similarly located for less money, was disappointed in the ambience and service. Rooms were very, very dark with no control over the room temperature. Front desk was not helpful with directions unlike our experience at other hotels and somewhat standoffish when asked questions such as cost of in-room phone calls and the...

We stayed at the Diplomatic Hotel for 4 nights in June 2005 and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a central location. The room was a reasonable size and the bathroom, though small, was new and very clean. We were on the fifth floor at the back and it was very quiet. Breakfast...

We stayed at the Diplomatic Hotel, Rome for a long weekend. Although the facilities are very basic this is an excellent hotel if you wish to see the sights of Rome. Its location couldn't have been better and both the Vatican and all the other sights of Rome were within easy walking distance. We stayed on the third floor at...

Stayed here with friends for a weekend shopping trip. About a 10 min walk to the smart shops but meant we were away from the noise and bustle which was welcome. The hotel was good value for Rome, although no proper lounge/bar area. The rooms were perfectly adequate and the bathrooms modern and clean. The reception staff tried to sell...

My husband and I stayed here from March 9-15, 2005. Our room was huge by European Standards. The bathroom was also a good size. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance and it is in a quiet part of town. We would definitely stay here again.

My son and I spent Christmas in Rome. It was very enjoyable and had a wonderful time. Hotel location is fantastic. You can walk almost everywhere and go back to the hotel to drop things off or rest for some minutes before going out again. You can catch any bus right in front. Front desk staff was really nice and...

Paid 100 euros a night for this hotel which was well worth the money. Brilliant location between the Spanish Steps and the Vatican, close to the River. Our double room was spacious, the bed huge and it had a lovely marble bathroom. Breakfast was fine with a choice of cereal, fruit, ham, cheese, croissants etc. Staff in the breakfast area...

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
