The hotel is in a great location. Very close to all the sites but can still enjoy some peace and quite. The staff at the hotel were amazing in all aspects from recommending and booking restaurants to directing us to the various sites. We stayed in a junior suite which was pretty spacious with good size bathrooms ( compared to...

This hotel cannot have seen a refurb in 40 years. Nothing works. Room heating. Room telephone. The staff are very good but it's just that the hotel is so old fashioned. Faded carpets and fabrics. All feels a bit dirty. The views from the breakfast area to the Vatican very nice and the Mirabelle restaurant in the evening is very...

Encourage everyone to visit Rome in February. The pluses are obvious: the weather (+15C) which is very comfortable for sightseeing, less tourists (though still crowds in Vatican), you could actually see smth in the museums and around, most restaurants will find a table for walk-ins. The hotels' prices are much more affordable (2-4 times cheaper than in high season) and...

From greetings at the door through the reception process and to a delightful bedroom it was charm and courtesy all the way. The rooms are very elegant and comfortable, the decoration is stunning and the large marbled bathroom is fantastic! The location of the hotel was great, you can walk to everywhere. It's one of the greatest neighborhoods of rome....

Heartily recommend this hotel, just around the corner from the Via Veneto, and worth every star in its 5 star designation. 19th century style rooms with modern bathroom, great breakfast, and Mirabella, the hotel restaurant was superb. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable, especially making reservations at museums where such are needed. I will return.

The Good: Quiet(ish) location. For Rome, anyway. Close to Metro stop. Beautifully decorated rooms with accent lighting. Excellent, attentive, helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast buffet. The Bad: Only one complaint: the thermostat was uncooperative. Unable to reach cooler temperature without the fan blasting (despite this being winter), resetting to default temp in the middle of the night, and just generally being...

Perfect location -- perfect size -- perfect service. Located across street from Borghese Gardens and just around the corner from Spanish steps. Superb, personalized service in all respects, including wonderful beds, but surprise of delight is rooftop restaurant. Most absolutely delicious food served by most professional waiters. Cjouldn't stay away!

This was our 2nd trip to Italy and this time we wanted to begin our trip in Rome. We spent the first two nights in Rome and we were THRILLED to find this place. I was walking distance to every place we wanted to see. The staff was more than helpful in getting our bearings straight. Rooms were very clean...

I was really looking forward to staying here as it is apart of the small luxury hotels of the world. It is an old world hotel with all the classic traditional trimmings which reminded me of living in a different century. Check in was great and accommodating, concierge was helpful although after a 5 EURO tip he forgot to report...

We went for honeymoon and everything was totally amazing. The historic ambiance of the hotel was perfect. (we specially wanted a hotel which still keeps its historic atmosphere and Splendide is probably the best of Rome about it) The rooms were great and really clean, breakfasts were delicious and the breakfast menu was very good. The location is also very...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
