Hotel Cicerone

The Cicerone hotel is a large, bright, modern building perfectly inserted in the nineteenth century architectural style of the Prati district. In spite of its large size the hotel is very warm and welcoming providing a very comfortable environment for guests. Communal areas are filled with elegant sofas and all those small touches usually found in smaller boutique hotels.

Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

The rooms were too small, the windows didn't close firmly, the kettle was broken and the staff was mostly ironic with our complaints. The worst of all is that the rooms were very dirty, the towels had stains from rust and excrement and there was a stain from puke at the moquette,

Came here for a few days of work and was a little pensive given the weight of recent negative reviews. OK, so maybe the breakfast isn’t the best and the decor is a little worn, and yes the lifts on the right of the hotel do creak a little. But, I found the staff to be very friend

An average hotel. Almost as ancient as Rome itself. However while efforts have been made to preserve Rome, the hotel has been grossly neglected. The sound their elevators make can scare the bravest. The rooms and amenities are bare basics. And the breakfast is worse. Ofcourse

Was there for 3 nights and it was not very pleasant hotel. Sometimes I didn't need to use the keycard to open the door, so therefore anybody could open the door. I told the staff and sombody "fixed it" but the next day it was the same.

We were given a twin room when we wanted a double. There are apparently no double beds except in the suites. The staff's solution was to put a double sheet over the two individual beds to hold them together, this obviously does not work.
There was no heating in the room, the flo

What are their restaurant and pizzeria prices? Is the food nice or is it better to eat out? Thanks.
Their large individual pizzas are good and are reasonably priced. Price included a glass of wine too.

Is there any chance you can use an iron to iron your clothes? How much for breakfast to be served in hotel room (room service)?
Didn't notice an iron in the room but we used the laundry service. It was worth the price considering we were limited in amount of luggage we could bring and our clothes took a beating in the hot, humid weather. Never used room service. Our breakfast was included with our tour group. Hope someone else can be more helpful on this issue.
