Just OK, better options available stayed just one night to be near the train station prior to our return home. Rooms are very small, drab and dingy. Bed was uncomfortable. I have previously stayed at other hotels near the train station in the Rome, and there are better hotels in the same price range.

We stayed at the Astoria Garden Hotel after a Venice - Rome cruise. For anyone needing to access the main train station it is in a good location, just a few easy blocks away, as well as near hop-on hop-off bus routes. We had a ground floor room, facing a tropical garden with tables and chairs where you can sit...

Pleasant hotel, with adequate facilities and fair standard for the price. As with all smaller city hotels, the rooms are on the small side but they were clean, tidy and perfectly fine as a base for our 3 days in Rome. It's true what some reviewers have said in that the area is a little tired in places but it's...

It was about 8 minutes walk from the train station. The surrounding area was not very good, lots of emptied buildings, the street was dirty and at times smelly. The hotel itself looked nice and they had their own back garden. When we checked in, we were told no food or drinks allowed to be taken out of the breakfast...

This hotel is terrible! The bed is literally a box. Horrible and hard mattress. The rooms are small. There is no space to move around literally . The hotel key has to be place in a slot. if you remove the key from the slot everything shuts off including the wifi. You have to put the wifi username and password...

Good location, a short walk away from Roma Termini and city bus station. Easy to get to most of the sights. Rooms are small, staff are helpful, breakfast not great. Several good restaurants very nearby for dinner. I stayed here several years ago and I would probably stay here again when in Rome.

This is a 3 star that feels like a 4 star! Great value! Close to the train station, and lots of close amenities like laundromat and nice, cheap restaurants! The concierge was AMAZING!!! The staff was great and the room was acceptable. It would be very easy to give this place a 4... But considering the value for your money,...

Good things: next to train terminal., nice views, great staff! Kudos to Lorenzo. He was so helpful and friendly! Be aware before you book: the surrounding area is very not as good. Not in a good area. Some dangerous looking characters hanging around the corner. Be careful! Rooms are tiny! Bathroom is tiny. Beds are hard. Overall it's okay, but...

First off the hotel itself is a BNB. The room itself is cozy, but dont expect it to be high end. The bathroom was actually nice and clean. The bed was hard, but again its just to sleep and when your tired you fall like a rock. There is a garden at least in the back were we were situated....

Friendly staff, walkable distance from the Roma Termini, a pretty decent triple room, a good spread for breakfast - were all nice. The AC is not effective enough for the room and so naturally took hours to drive the heat out of the room. Access to WiFi from the rooms should be strengthened. All staff were pleasant and friendly.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
