Nestled in a central location amid iconic landmarks, The Inn at the Spanish Steps is celebrated by guests for its prime positioning, perfect for shopping and dining excursions while ensuring guest safety. The hotel exudes an intimate charm with its tastefully decorated, spacious rooms and social areas that contribute to its welcoming ambiance. Praise for its spotless cleanliness is a recurring theme among travelers. While the rooftop amenities and breakfast are highlights for many, some visitors express disappointment in the perceived value, noting occasional maintenance and noise issues in rooms. Despite this, the staff is frequently commended for their attentive and friendly service, although there are occasional mentions of inefficiency.

Went to Rome in November for my 60th with my wife. Really enjoyed this hotel we stayed in the hotel building rather than one of the nearby apartments. There is a lot of charm with a touch of class. The staff were very helpful throughout and stepped in to sort out a short notice airport transfer. Room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Best thing is the location, we could walk everywhere c3km across the river to the Vatican and St Peters Sq and a shorter distance to the Forum and Colosseum, Trevi Fountain / Pantheon just a stroll and of course Spanish Steps right outside. The area around the hotel is vibrant, loads of high end luxury shops but also all the high street brands, cafe's and restaurants on every corner, try Ginger - Spagna via Del cross. We did not find eating out expensive and certainly lots of options for every budget. Throughout our 4 day stay we had great food, wine and even in November was warm enough (with a cosy jumper on) to sit outside and watch the world pass by. We opted for the breakfast which is served on the top floor where the decor and layout is a bit different! adding more of a pensione vibe, choice was very good with hot and cold options and gluten free, in fact everywhere we eat had an extensive gluten free choice it just seemed to be standard. In summary, great hotel touch of class lots of charm, small but personal, the best location for shopping, site seeing or just exploring, felt very safe throughout, would recommend the Inn at the Spanish Steps best place to rock your own Emily in Rome mini adventure.

The Inn at the Spanish Steps has several locations around the Spanish Steps, we stayed at the rooms next to Prada, one of which had an amazing view directly of the Spanish Steps that was second to none. It is a busy area, but our rooms (5th floor) were not loud at all. Lots of luxury good shopping downstairs, grocery stores within walking distance, restaurants, coffee/tea shops, and gelaterias. The hotel is within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain (9 minutes). Being in Rome, hotels are generally smaller/more compact. The elevator is old fashioned and fits 3 people maximum, but was able to fit ample luggage and a collapsible wheelchair. We ended up getting breakfast included, which was a nice selection right in the lounge area on the 5th floor (will vary based on which block/building of rooms you stay in), and the waitstaff were especially helpful and friendly, and can make omelets and salads on request. You did need a door key for the large door to the street which locks after 19:00. The lounges were nice, had kitchens fully stocked with plates, utensils, glasses, kitchen, small oven, espresso machine (we ate our own dinner after grocery store run on the terrace). The rooms were comfortable and well furnished. One note is room 807 did have a bump on the bottom of the floor that made pushing the door open difficult at times. All the staff were friendly and helpful. When we checked in, we met the owner, who upon seeing that we were traveling in a big group with a wheelchair, was especially accommodating in finding us the right rooms so we could avoid stairs, took us to see the rooms, and really went the extra mile. Overall we had a great experience at this hotel!

This was our 4th visit to the Inn and each experience is even more special!
Our dearest friends joined us who had never traveled to Rome before and
they were not sure what to expect when we drove up to the Inn. Our experience
began with a driver from the Inn picking us up from a cruise and we were whisked
away. As always, our greeting was warm and welcoming-just like family. Check-in was perfect. Dinner reservations and tours were excellent. Our rooms were beautiful. The view, the amenities of the room, rooftop pleasures...everything was exceptional. Each person greeted us with genuine kindness and went out of their way to assist us to make our visit to Rome fabulous. Our room was spotless, pillows and towels plentiful, breakfast service and afternoon delights amazing... and the front desk always there with a smile ready to answer any questions and offer suggestions, map out our journey when we were walking, we always felt comfortable and very welcome. We are excited to return again very soon! Thank you everyone!!!

I stayed at The Inn at the Spanish Steps in December 2024 and was deeply disappointed with the experience. This was a far cry from the excellent stay I had in 2017, which made this visit all the more disheartening.

From the moment I arrived, the reception personnel displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. Their attitude was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, offering excuses rather than assistance.

The room was poorly maintained. Cleaning standards were subpar, with noticeable issues such as peeling paint and worn-out furniture that didn’t match in color or style. The furniture felt old and neglected, and the overall aesthetic left much to be desired.

Breakfast was another letdown. The variety was limited, and items ran out quickly without replenishment. While the breakfast area does offer a nice view, the steep stairs to access it made it inconvenient and difficult.

The only advantage of this hotel is its prime location in the heart of the attraction areas, which makes it convenient for sightseeing. Unfortunately, this alone cannot make up for the substandard experience.

Based on this stay, I cannot rate this hotel higher than 2 stars. It’s disheartening to see how far the quality has declined since my last visit.

This hotel trades purely on it location near the Spanish Steps . It masquerades as a luxury hotel but is at best two star in what it promises and what it delivers . The Reception is a taste of what is to come - two people at the end of a long corridor who have clearly passed out top of a course in how not to greet guests in a welcoming fashion . Sadly this was true of nearly all the staff who seemed indifferent by the manner they dealt with their guests . We booked 7 months in advance and were still allocated a room in their satellite block - a 5 minute walk away at 63 Bocca Di Leone - with no lift . However the porter was very helpful and took all our cases to the first floor - he deserved his tip . The room was not cleaned well - the carpets were stained and the shower not cleaned properly . The hot tap ran very slowly and the tap is very old and needs replacing . Worst of all we could hear everything the guest were saying in the next door room and every step in the room above . There was no water (complimentary on Day 1 only !)or hair dryer- we had to ask for both . The roof top bar is rather faded and no view of the Spanish Steps - as depicted on the website . At nearly Euro 400 a night these so called luxury suites are hugely overpriced - and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone . Very disappointing .

The hotel pleasantly surprised us; we chose it because of its location in the center and expected the worst)
Firstly, upon check-in, we were upgraded to the standard of our rooms free of charge, for which special thanks, the room is large, freshly renovated, excellent mattress and pillows, large bathroom with bidet and soap washer from Etro. Separately, I would like to note the luxurious parquet on the floor, and not the smelly carpet)))
We had a room in another building, where all the rooms are scattered around the area, but this did not bother us, it has its own charm) (what do 2-seater elevators cost).
Welcome drink and delicious breakfast on the roof of the building overlooking Rome, on the ground floor there is a Cartier boutique and the oldest Greco coffee shop.
On Via de Condotti and nearby there are boutiques ranging from Bulgari, LV and ending with COS. There are a lot of restaurants, ice cream and even a small supermarket with excellent Express prices.

All attractions are within walking distance, the Spanish Steps are 50 meters away, the Trevi Fountain is 500 meters away, Villa Borghese, Piazza Venice, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Pantheon and the list goes on endlessly... We passed by the Trevi Fountain probably 5 times) and it was always there there was a crowd, so we specially came at 8 am and took pictures without people)))

All the staff are very friendly and always ready to help.

My husband and I and our friends liked everything very much, we will recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely return)

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment that is just around the corner from the main hotel. They escorted us to the apartment and organised our luggage. The brief interaction we had with the staff was they were friendly and helpful. We arrived early and were given a welcome drink while we waited for our room. I think they felt sorry for us as we travelled all the way from Australia. Although the hotel has a buffet breakfast you can purchase we preferred to get up early and eat like the locals standing up at cafes. We loved the location and having multiple restaurants right near us we didn’t have far to walk for dinner. The apartment was a good size with an expected small bathroom and very comfortable bed and pillows. Great location central to everything. Loved Rome and our apartment.

We wanted something special, so we opted for the Honeymoon Suite. Very pricey, but we knew that. Having previously stayed at the Inn at the Forum, and had exceptional service, we expected the same, or better, in one of the premium rooms at The Inn at The Steps. Let’s be clear, it was nice, but in our opinion not quite good enough for the price. The Honeymoon Suite is located in a separate building (we knew that too) and it has a large private terrace, overlooking the Piazza di Spagna, along with half of the Steps themselves. So a premium location and a premium room for sure, but some of the basics for such a price were missing: no bottled water after day 1, only two tea bags per day, poor Wifi speeds, no adjustment possible on the aircon, no cushions on the sun-loungers. Once the room phone was fixed we called for some more tea bags and got the response ‘we will bring some later’. Breakfast is sometimes available in the Annex, otherwise you have to visit the main hotel 300 metres away. But all in all this felt much more like staying in a serviced apartment than in a luxury hotel, sorry to say. And when we checked out, no-one asked if we had enjoyed our stay.

Be warned do not stay at this place.
The worst accommodation and staff I have ever come across.
We booked for two nights with American Express who rated this highly.
When we got dropped off around the corner as you can’t stop at the hotel it was hard to get help from anyone.
The lift is a typical 1 person lift so use the stairs if you must stay here.
We had a blackout in the middle of summer and they don’t have any back up lights or even offer you anything.
We decided after 5 hours and at 9pm being on the 3rd floor and no power it was not safe to stay at the hotel.
We asked for our money back for the nights stay and they refused. We spoke to management who could not give us any idea of when the power was coming back on.
As a mother I decided to move to another hotel for the safety of my son and I.
The hotel did not give a dam.!
I lost over $820 for the night and they refuse to give me money back for the stay. I am sure this hotel was compensated for what they lost. Many customers were complaining about the same issues.
Breakfast is on the top level that looks like someone living room, food was revolting.
Do yourself a favour and don’t book this place. The worst in Rome
The only good thing is the location.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights. Very easy to find. The room was comfortable and modern with an en-suite bathroom which had a shower (some also have tubs if you prefer). Everything was spotlessly clean. The reception staff were very helpful and gave useful suggestions and advise!
We were pleasantly surprised in the morning at breakfast…. There was a large variety to choose from and everything was fresh.
We can recommend staying here as it is in the centre of Rome…. in one of the main shopping areas.
All the main sites are within walking distance and the underground is 3 mins walk from the hotel.
We hope to be back in the future!

The honeymoon suite has a view over the Spanish steps and a small prvate terrace. It is in the same building as the Chanel store.
