The Hoxton Rome hotel is often celebrated for its chic atmosphere and lively lobby, complete with live music that guests find inviting. Cleanliness is top-notch, with numerous commendations for pristine rooms and facilities. While the hotel's service garners high marks for staff friendliness and professionalism, a few guests have encountered slower service. The amenities add to the charm, although there have been occasional remarks about room issues. Opinions on value vary, with some guests questioning the prices and additional charges. The location is generally well-received for its tranquility and proximity to city highlights, despite not being in the heart of the city. Rooms are consistently praised for their stylish comfort and modern design.

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night as part of our 3 week trip travelling around Italy. We absolutely loved this hotel from the moment we walked into it. The decor is very modern and the hotel is quite quirky with little things that help to ‘pick you up’, like the hand sanitisers saying ‘keep it clean kids’. When we checked in the staff were very friendly and this continued throughout the hotel from the reception staff to restaurant staff, all members of staff went out of their way to say hello and to make us feel at home.

Our room was gorgeous, one of the nicest we have stayed in. Again, the style of the room is quite quirky with little subtle messages throughout. We absolutely loved the radio which was a nice touch! Simple things like the hand wash, shampoo etc were really nice and high quality. Room service was available by scanning the QR code and included a full menu and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. We didn’t get room service as we were only staying one night but it seemed very easy to order.

We had food downstairs in the lobby. We shared a club sandwich which was really nice, no complaints at all. Again, the service was great with staff being very friendly and attentive. Reasonable prices also for a hotel. I would recommend the food.

We didn’t have breakfast as it wasn’t included in our price but we were advised that they charge per item for breakfast if we wanted to have this the following morning.

We had to queue for a while to check out but this want a big deal. Checkout is 12pm and we arrived a few minutes after and people were checking in and checkout out so there was a small queue. Staff were efficient and we only had to wait a couple of minutes to check out. Again, staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgable and seemed to genuinely care about our experience at the hotel.

To conclude, this is one of my favourite hotels I have stayed in and I’m really glad we chose this hotel in Rome; I wish we had stayed longer than one night. The staff were great, the hotel decor was modern and quirky and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Thanks to the staff and I can’t wait to come back to this hotel. I will definitely recommend this hotel and The Hoxton hotel group to my friends and family.

As with other hotels in the group, the Hoxton in Rome is very relaxed and also extremely comfortable. That combination is difficult to find in any other Roman hotel. The whole team were extremely welcoming, highly professional and attentive throughout. Housekeeping kept our rooms (we had two), meticulously clean. Although set on a moderately busy road, the bedrooms were very quiet, well appointed, and with very effective blackout. Design wise, I enjoyed the concept – Fettle and Ennismore have created very comfortable, warm and welcoming public areas; the design touches in the bedrooms are characterful and give a strong sense of individuality. The location in Salario is ideal, with easy access to the centre of the city and, not least, the Villa Borghese and its beautiful parkland - if you want to walk into town, that's the route to take. Salario itself is an enjoyably relaxed and leafy area with a creative vibe and some very good local restaurants; we particularly enjoyed Mamma Mia across the road from the hotel. The restaurant highlight during our trip was Enoteca La Torre at the Villa Laetitia.

The one issue we encountered was the lack of Nespresso machines in the bedrooms (instant coffee is (sadly) a Hoxton thing, but in Italy - seriously people). However, this was a small point during what was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We'll certainly be back!

Taxi tip: Uber can be a little haphazard in Rome, but we ordered Exec cars and only had one driver cancel over the course of a week. The standard fare's unattractive for most taxi drivers, but the Exec rate piques their interest.

I spent a 3 days/2 nights at the Hoxton less than a week ago to enjoy the Christmas mood of Rome. I had absolutely one of the best hotel experiences of my life.
The rooms were spotless, and what shall we say about the radio music when you enter the room? Absolutely a great touch of style, in line with the overall feeling of the hotel. Great placement in the heart of the city, beautiful neighborhood, and convenient to get anywhere famous and touristic. At night, if you don't have plans to go somewhere, the hotel offers a great and cozy bar to get your "aperitivo". The mood and preparation of the cocktails feels absolutely high-end, and the Pandoro Sour they created for the season it's a cherry on top of the cake...absolutely recommended!
Last credit is for the staff that I wish I could thank one by one. From the front desk (thank you Vittoria, you've been an angel) to the last person you may run into, they are all super nice, ready to answer and solve any problem you may possibly have!
Anyone looking for a great experience should definitely try this place!

Check-in was super smooth and upon arrival the room was spotless and well presented, unfortunately on the second day we didn’t receive any housekeeping service and when asking for it at around 6 pm at the reception we were told that this was now beyond the regular time (which is a bit strange but never mind). When we came back from dinner much later we only found some fresh towel but unfortunately placed on the toilet (from all the places in the bathroom they were really placed on the toilet …) but garbage was not removed or toilet paper refilled let alone a proper service. Next day we got service and all was good again.

We also liked the little breakfast bags which came with our room package and we happily made use of it. Later on we also went for breakfast to the terrace however when we got there on Sunday morning it was quite busy (as it often gets on a Sunday …). We arrived at around 10.45 and were patiently waiting for a waiter to take notice and when I got up 20 mins. later to place my order I was rudely told that kitchen closes at 11 am, after a little arguing the order was taken however when the food finally was about to arrive at 11.30 am we had to rush to leave as we had arranged a pick up. At least the bill was waived but leaving hungry wasn’t great, but then again Rome has many great dining places so we got over it quickly.

We were offered a late check out until 2 pm upon arrival which we were glad to accept. On our departure day we came a little late around 2:45 pm to checkout and obviously the keys weren’t working anymore but going up and down 3 times to get the keys extended and to working order we felt was a bit too much.

Apart from the above our stay was great and the team is mostly very nice and helpful.

All of the above are service glitches that can simply happen anywhere however when mentioning those upon checkout I didn't feel those were taken seriously so I send an email to hotel management afterwards which then got completely ignored hence the average rating ....

As a seasoned traveller , I was shocked on arrival to learn that guests are required to pay an immediate hold charge upon check in to the value of the cost of the room per night for damages. We were understandably blindsided; especially given that payment for our stay was settled in December 2022 and the hold charge is not at all referenced in the hotel's payment and cancellation policy or mentioned during the booking process. Having read through the reviews of this hotel however, I was quite surprised that nobody mentions this which leads me to believe this is probably applied "at discretion"... This not only put a sour taste in our mouths at the start of our trip but also caused a dent in our budget for the trip itself.

Interestingly, the "hold" itself was refunded on the final morning of my stay PRIOR to check out and before any form of "inspection" could verify we had not damaged the room as feared, which begs the question, what was the actual point other than it being an unnecessary inconvenience?

We had a cosy room which wasn't as small as I feared however it was severely lacking basic necessities i.e. a wardrobe . There was clothing rail with 6 hangers and no chest of drawers, just a little cupboard underneath. This is just not sufficient for 2 adults and unlike other trips where I have freely unpacked, I had to keep most clothes in my case throughout my stay because of limited space.

On the positive side, the hotel itself was okay. Most (sadly not all) of the hotel staff were friendly and the vibe in the lobby area was lively with nice music. The food from Elio was good and breakfast which we had paid for in advance was table service as opposed to buffet style which was a nice touch. The location itself is not very central however there are a few amenities nearby such as supermarkets and you can travel by foot to a few places such as Villa Borghese (10 min walk). There are however a number of bus stops nearby that can take you to popular places within 15/20 minutes.

The Hoxton Rome hotel has potential but unfortunately my personal experience particularly arrival put a dampner on things. For this reason I cannot recommend and definitely will stay elsewhere for my next visit to Rome.

Ciao! Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the credit card preauthorization during check-in. Please understand that this hold is a standard procedure in many hotels, intended not as a deposit for potential damages but rather as a means to cover any additional charges that may arise during your stay, such as those from the bar or restaurant. We acknowledge that this information may not have been adequately communicated to you, and we regret any surprise it may have caused. Rest assured that this hold is automatically released when settling your final bill during check-out. We regret that this misunderstanding may have affected your overall experience, but we truly value your feedback, and we will certainly take it into consideration to enhance our services further. On a positive note, we are delighted to hear that you found some aspects of your stay enjoyable, including the friendliness of our staff, the vibes in our lobby, and the quality of food at Elio restaurant and during breakfast. Thank you for choosing The Hoxton Rome, and we look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back in the future for a more pleasant stay. Best, x The Hox

Literally the best hotel experience of my life!

We came to the Hoxton with my boyfriend, normally to stay for 2 nights. The service was so incredible that we decided to stay two extra nights there.

The Hoxton Rome is the perfect middle between sophisticated and chill atmosphere. We felt like home and even started to have our markers there. The staff is like nowhere else: caring, kind and pleasant. They asked us everyday how we were feeling and also about our needs.

It’s more than a hotel, it’s a real place to live and stay. You can both work there, enjoy a breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner/drink... We have tasted all the plates in the menu and honestly all were delicious with a very good price-quality ratio.

The place and the rooms are amazing as well. Everything look vintage and charming. The atmosphere is very warm. The bedding was perfect, we slept like babies.

The location of the hotel is also perfect, in a beautiful neighborhood with charming houses around. You are 8 minutes walking from the Villa Borghese and near by Piazza di España which is part of Roma’s center.

I will definitely go there again next time in Roma! You should go there if you want to stay in a beautiful place with a good price-quality ratio and most of all with the best staff ever.

We spent 5 nights in this lovely hotel. We felt that we were part of the local community, for the past number of days. Each morning we awoke, we opened our windows and curtains and enjoyed the sounds of people visiting the local market, which was just behind our hotel. It was lovely to hear all the sounds of life from the local area. The hotel is a little distance from the sights in Rome but we walked to Villa Borghese and enjoyed the park. We also walked to the Spanish Steps area from our hotel. Make sure you have your comfortable walking shoes on and explore on foot. We used Uber drivers for most of our stay and found them a much more affordable way to travel. The taxis were expensive. The first day we arrived we got Into a taxi that had just dropped off fares at our hotel. We asked him to take us to Termini Train Station - for that he charged us 18 euros. That was very steep and we didn’t make that mistake again! The hop on, hop off bus tours (Big Bus Tours) were only operating Friday - Monday. The hotel itself is comfortable, stylish and has very friendly and warm staff. There are plenty of options to eat at the hotel and many other eateries around the locality. There is a supermarket just a few steps from the hotel so anything you need can be purchased there. We thoroughly recommend the Hoxton Hotel Rome. Thanks for everything.

The Rooms in the Hoxton Hotel in Rome are nice decorated but a little bit too small. It wouldnt have been a problem, if there was more space to put your clothes and suitcases in (There wasnt a closet)
The personal was very friendly and seemed motivated but we recognized that we needed to say what we want to order a couple of times. The timing of serving the drinks/foods was one by one and not always at the same time. In the 4 days we were here, they forgot some dishes and we had to wait unusual long for little things like some more bread or an extra butter.
The hotel interior and the reception aswell the entrance were really beautiful.
The location is a little bit out of the centre but with Uber or Lime Bikes/Bicycles you get everywhere you want in under 20 minutes.
We would give 4.5/5 Stars if the service of the restaurant would be more organized.

Maybe thats because the hotel has just opened.

Super happy with my experience at the Hoxton Rome. I chose a Cozy Up room which offered nice space, comfy seating, a great bathroom and a window that opened. The public areas are super fun, decorated with great style and organized for lounging, having a drink or a coffee, working on your laptop or just chatting with friends. I skipped their morning breakfast in favor of a cappuccino and pastry at the bar… Roman style. This is my fourth visit to Rome and I was uncertain about staying outside of the old center. I’m so glad I did. The hotel is in a unique neighborhood with interesting architecture and great transportation connections. I downloaded the TicketAppy, which lets you buy bus, tram, or metro tickets (One at a time or as a pass.) Google your destination and google maps will show you where the nearest bus/tram stop is, when the bus is coming, and how far to your destination. The hotel is very close to the Borghese gardens and its actually a very nice walk thru the gardens down to the Spanish steps and into the old city center. I used room service several times during my stay. The food came incredibly fast, and was well prepared. The hotel gives you free bottled water and Wi-Fi. Frankly the overall value is very high. Many Roman hotels are depending on their location, without renovation or redecoration in decades. I appreciated the modern amenities in the Hoxton. The staff were polite and efficient. I was hosting a dinner for multiple friends visiting from Malta and the hotel made dinner reservations and arranged an early morning taxi to the airport. Overall a great visit and I highly recommend.

The hotel is simply wonderful, compared to Hoxton Paris and Hoxton Amsterdam it’s an improvement of the concept, extensive in and outdoor F&B facilities and the most helpful staff you’ll ever encounter (especially Ahmad from front office). It has beautiful rooms and the best shower pressure I’ve had in at least 4 to 5 years, the mattress and pillows are really comfy (Tielle pillows are simply the best, I even have them at home). The hotel has a good level of soundproofing and might be a bit outside of the centre, but it is easily reachable with a wonderful walk in villa Borgese, a bus, taxi or Uber. The only points of improvement I could think of for the hotel is allowing a form of screen mirroring for the tv’s, slightly more clothing storage and offering Hoxton’s famous Mac & Cheese ;)
Overall an incredible stay!
