Great location, great room...very accommodating...only problem was the stairs and the elevators...being on the 4t floor was tough...the stairs were being repaired and the scaffolding was hard to get around. Other than that it was a pretty nice place for the price for sure

Dear Jackie B B, we are very glad to know that you had a special time at Selene. Rick Steve's friends are Selene's friends! Sorry about trouble and stuff about under renovation areas. On the other hand, during this refurbishing time, we are offering very good rates to our guests! Looking forward to meeting you on your next visit. Best...

We selected this hotel from a recommendation by Rick Steves-Rome guide. On arrival, the hotel looked just like the pictures. The room was large and clean. The bed was a bit hard but from the other reviews, we were expecting that. We stayed 3 days here and found the bed to become more comfortable as each night passed due to...

We stayed here in late June 2012. The hotel was nice. It's best feature was its location. Just 5 minute walk to the main hop-on hop-off bus stops and the main train station. Several good restaurants nearby as well. It wasn't too far of a walk to some of the other tourist sites but I recommend the bus as best...

Spent two nights in Hotel Selene in June 2012. Looking for convenience, room for four adults, clean, breakfast and air conditioning. Selene made the grade. Only there to sleep and it satisfied in all respects. Can walk to train station and to all areas of Rome. Kept bags on last day. Breakfast was basic but good.

Dear sae, thank you very much for your kind feedback. We appreciate your candid opinion about Selene and we are very glad to know that you have spent a good time with us. Family rooms for four are one of our best feature, since few hotels in city-centre are able to provide this room type. Thanks again for your choice....

You can't beat the location of this hotel if you're traveling in and out of Rome by train. It's a four minute walk to Termini Roma. The room was clean and the A/C worked, nice bathroom. Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
