Cannot be beaten on price for this area. Its so central and just a short walk from Termini station. Im supprised they include breakfast at this price. Breakfast offers a few sweet pastries or cereal. Rooms are basic, comfortable and very spacious. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Store next door, restaurants a stones throw away and all attractions...

Perfect location! 10 minutes walk from train station Termini, 10 mins walk from metro and you can walk to many attractions easily. There is a supermarket right next to it. The only thing is we don't like the breakfast. They cannot cook and they serve sweet bakery only. Luckily they allow us to bring our own stuff, so we bought...

Great hotel in an ancient and magical building. The location is the main value for your money - the hotel located close to Via Nazionale St (many shops, restaurants and co) and just 10 minutes walk from the center of Rome (Piazza Barberini, Fontana de Trevi and so on). The main city transportation station (Termini) is only 10 minutes walk...

Great location and friendly staff. Spacious room but felt stuffy when I entered. I opened all windows to let fresh air come in. The complimentary breakfast is minimal, you really get what you pay for.

I traveled with my son for a four day visit to Rome and chose to stay at hotel Zara which I booked through Booking.com based on location - the reviews were not all great but I made my decision based on price and location. I wasn't expecting much so wasn't disappointed or even remotely bothered because our days were spent...

A short walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. I asked if there was a good place to eat nearby when i checked in - the lady at the desk laughed and said just step outside. Maybe a dozen restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny, the breakfast is nothing...

This is definitely a trade off of location for quality. The hotel is very central but the hotel itself/rooms are really very basic- lots of missing ceiling panels and buckets for dripping water and no toilet seat in our bathroom! The breakfast was very underwhelming, coffee and juice machines really need to be changed or cleaned. Ok if you intend...

My family and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. When we arrived we weren't acknowledged at all by the reception staff even though the reception is the smallest space ever. The woman behind the desk was speaking to a gentleman and after her conversation ended she started with 'who are you' no hello or anything particularly welcoming. We...

I've stayed here a couple of times, and location is the thing. The street (Via Quattro Fontane) ia very beautiful and scenic, in walking distance to almost all attractions, I remember not using Metro at all for days. Hotel is ok for the money. Rooms are decent with suprisingly spacious bathrooms. Poor internet (but I never found good one in...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
