Arrived late on Monday afternoon, lovely reception and helpful staff. We were then directed out of the reception and round the corner. We eventually found a very large brown door which on first impression was "a bit scary". We pressed the bell and entered a large hallway and proceeded to a very old lift. Once we found our room we... I only stayed in this hotel for 24 hours but I would definitely choose it again. -Location, Location, Location: only 3 blocks away from Roma Termini. We walked from the train station to the hotel with all our luggage and did not have any issues. I stayed for a day because I had a flight the following morning at 9... More

Nice little 3 star hotel. Not too big but cosy. Reception staff are helpful and the lady who cleaned our room was great. Clean towels every day and also clean bedding twice in three days. The area is not the best but it's 5 minutes walk to the metro and train station so very central! Breakfast was basic but also... More

The hotel is very nice and clean. The breakfast is simple but we loved everything. The location is excellent close to the termini station. The only problem was the accustic between the rooms. We couldn't sleep well because of the noise of the others rooms. It was like we were together listening all the conversations and noises. The kids didn't... More

Pros: 5 minutes’ walk from major subway and train station. Clean Room. Friendly Staff. Good WiFi. Good price. Cons: Facilities are a little aged, but acceptable. Given the price, this hotel is a good deal. It’s clean and well lighted. My room is facing the street, but it’s generally quiet, except that one day at about 4am there was some... More

The hotel is nothing special but we didn't spend much time in the hotel other than to sleep. It is very close to the Termini station, we took the train in from the airport and walked about 5 minutes to the hotel. It's also a few blocks from the hop on/off tours. The room was a good size and the... More

9 of us recently stayed for 4 nights at the Piemonte Hotel in Rome. It was our second visit to Rome so we already knew that the hotel was in a good location, near Termini and walkable to most of the tourist attractions. The rooms were very basic, but the beds were comfortable enough and the window shutters helped keep... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
