Hotel Torino has come under criticism by travelers who report poor service and express dissatisfaction with the hotel's value, particularly given its four-star rating. Many guests have experienced issues with rooms, ranging from bad odors and lack of cleanliness to ineffective air conditioning and cramped conditions. The atmosphere is often described as outdated, with old-fashioned decor and worn furnishings. While the amenities leave much to be desired, including the breakfast offerings, the hotel's location does receive praise for its convenience to attractions and transport.

I've stayed at the Torino for at least 5 years, and although the staff tries to hold it together, the building seems to be deteriorating. Previously, when alone, it was easier to overlook, but this time, as a couple, the shortcomings were harder to overlook. The bathrooms that lack a powered exhaust fan or a window stink, and the entire room consistently has a faint, foul scent. Housecleaning does the best it can, but opening the door to the rooms immediately offends. The showers have a half-door that fails to adequately protect the floor from some flooding. Wifi in the rooms is almost nonexistent, and for the most basic uses, one has to go to the lobby even for email retrieval. They haven't got the memo that WIFI IS NO LONGER A LUXURY.

Their double beds are two twins pushed together: very inconvenient for couples. One needs to hunt to find, and sometimes get on your knees to use available outlets. The rooms are overdue for some modernization.

The location is convenient, but the surroundings seem to be slipping back towards the carnivalesque, tourist-oriented atmosphere that used to dominate all the areas near Termini.

This 1950´ s hotel, has 2 pairs of stairs to get in that you have to climb on your own. The first to access the lobby, the second to go to the lift (1). I had heavy luggage. It was a real effort. They gave me a very tiny room, I asked to be changed, they changed me to a little better one.
The best of this hotel is the breakfast at the roof, nice view, and location. Personnel is also helpful. But no changes have been made since the fifities, I believe.

We stayed at Hotel Torino with a group. I would not recommend this hotel. The bed mattresses were completely worn out, no blankets on bed so we had to use ancient bedspreads. Hot water took 10 min to reach shower but if you tried to add cold to adjust temp, all hot water vanished. The hot shower was a trickle. Bathroom shampoo was powered and unusable. Breakfast was mediocre - fresh fruits were non-existent, coffee was not good, pastries were unappetizing, and boiled eggs severely over cooked. Thank goodness for the the granola which was delicious. Very few breakfast options nearby so we were stuck with the hotel choices. Our 7th floor room did not automatically lock, so room had to be locked from inside with key as well as locked with key whenever we left room. Other rooms in hotel did not have this issue. Keys had hotel name and room number plastered on the keychain which is a security issue if lost. Wifi dropped constantly. The safe did work and the room was made up each day (though our group had varied experience with housekeeping making up the rooms). If we had not been with a group, we would have left and found new accommodations.

we arrived at the hotel with about thirty students, they assigned us rooms and everyone went into their own. I open the door of the room, which I shared with two other girls, and, in addition to the nauseating smell of sewage, what immediately catches my eye are the dimensions, rather small for a triple room. In addition, the "double" bed was made up of two single beds pushed together while the third bed was a camp bed, not to mention blankets and sheets: dirty, unironed and with other people's hair.
The general cleanliness of the room is terrible, I strongly advise against this hotel for those who are allergic to dust given the enormous quantity present in every part of the room and despite the fact that we had asked for it to be cleaned. Nothing more than two drops of water comes out of the tap, the towels are almost transparent given their thinness and in the bathroom there is a small square that can be opened from the top like a window.
breakfast at the hotel had a limited choice of foods which weren't even that good.
as for dinner, we went to the restaurant associated with the hotel: "Alfredo" in via Principe Amedeo, and more than a dinner I would define it as a nightmare. There were three fixed courses which, for two days in a row, all of us kids didn't have the courage to finish. Overcooked lasagna, a tasteless sauce full of oil and a dessert that consisted of cream, probably ready-made and from the supermarket next door, and crushed dry biscuits. Classic canteen service: still or sparkling water, hot and in plastic bottles, no change of cutlery and we kids were the ones distributing the plates as the waiters limited themselves to bringing them to the edge of the table.
Terrible experience, it is a hotel that I strongly advise against and certainly not worthy of the four stars which I cannot understand how it managed to obtain.

Hotel close to the station (and this already leads to lowering expectations). But the 4 stars are heartening. Your trust begins to shake when at the reception they assign you a monk's room with a single bed and limited space instead of the double room for single use that I had booked. After a bit of research, I was assigned a room on the 7th floor. I get out of the elevator and figure out, in the absence of indications and in the presence of walls with problems of rising water, which way to the room is. I enter: a parade ground with questionable electric slippers. Slippers that are used to collect dust lying on the ground. Microscopic TV 3 meters from the bed (viewable only with a magnifying glass). The bathroom is top notch: almost non-existent water pressure, with a shower that is exhausting due to the very weak jet of water. But, above all, a truly disgusting smell. Bed and bathroom linen just short of hospital grade. I leave aside the neglect of the environments. Positive sides? Breakfast up to par and price consistent with the services (?) offered.

I give my opinion so that the Hotel can improve. At first glance when you arrive it is great. The attention of the reception staff is also great. I must highlight that of the 4 stars it has, I left it at 1.
I was in room 611. More precisely, November 11th. The room smells of humidity, the frame of the entrance door to the room is broken, which even made it difficult to open and close the door. Hot water... there was no hot water, I had a bad cold and I would have liked a good shower, but according to the answers from reception they had been warned to fix the boiler. The next day we couldn't shower, without hot water, and at breakfast other clients were already protesting about the same thing. A 4 star hotel that doesn't have hot water in the middle of winter is amazing... I couldn't believe it! I have a normal breakfast, until I find a simple bread toaster..... the glasses for water and juice were plastic..... anyway, I leave a review so that if they can, they can spend a little more and go somewhere else hotel, but of course.... Rome is so in demand that the owners don't care about having hot water in the showers, the hotel will always have it full. I advise not to book more!!!! Not even for one night, it's not worth it.

We checked in to the Torino in the beginning of June for our stay in Rome for a study abroad. When we entered our room we were met with a scorching heat that was coupled by a non-functional AC unit. After further inspection we found several spots of mold on the walls, vents and bathroom. When we attempted to plug in a fan into our room in an effort to reduce the unbearable heat we were met by nonfunctional outlets. After spending a night sleeping in what felt like noon in the Saharan Desert in the prime of August we went upstairs to the 7th floor where breakfast is served. We thought our poor experiences were behind us and we were ready to start our long day off right. How wrong we were as we found ourselves faced with “clean plates” (rinsed and not washed clearly with food smudges still on them), and “fresh bread” (which had started to mold and could break a piece of granite if used right). We later came back at night to pack and leave only to find a COLONY of bugs in one of our beds with waste all around them. Now before you ask why we didn’t open a window, our window looked out into the center “court yard” which had no breeze so it would not cool down our room, and also was home to the hotel’s dumpsters. Please what ever you do, do NOT waste your money and time here, as a result we are being forced to move last minute late at night to a hotel an hour outside the city because everything is booked, and we could not stay due to the obvious, as well as the fact many of the students and teachers on this trip have gotten sick due to the mold.

Perfect location, a stone's throw from Termini station, it definitely needs "renovating" but the room was clean, quiet, bathroom all working and the best thing was on the 7th floor panoramic terrace where you can have breakfast. Super abundant buffet breakfast. Courteous staff.

It's not enough for 1 star. The hotel is very old, the receptionist was quite unpleasant and in general the cleaning is terrible (there is fungus on the ceilings, showers with limescale, clogged showers and even lint behind the furniture - a real disgusting thing). On the other hand, the beds have very hard mattresses and the air conditioning sounds like a truck but does not work like one. Also, if you are looking for a safe hotel, this is not it; The room locks are with a regular key (not a card) and it requires effort to close the doors correctly. Zero recommended.

We were on a group tour and this hotel did not get us by our choice, so chose Europe Voyage. The reviews about the hotel not with pit to choose I read, and confirm it. But we had no options. The shock came at the reading. Remember this number - 124! They're trying to move everyone in one by one, hoping someone will agree. Saying it's a thrash isn't saying anything. I'll try to attach a photo. You walk into a room and there's really nothing to breathe, it smells awfully damp and mildew. Black mold on the ceiling!!! Everywhere. Why send people there I don't know, I think it's a real health hazard. We refused to move in and were given another number. Smaller mold, but she was. Let's shower - the water won't leave, we can't wash. And all the sheets in the hair: and it was repeated in all the rooms. I mean, the sheets are kind of clean, ironed, but not everything in the hair. I'll attach a photo, too. I don't know how that's possible. As a result, they switched to number three, with the windows facing the street. There was no mold, thank God! But there was hair. I went to get some new sheets, and I did it myself. They don't have maids, by the way. Basically, the hotel has 1 worker per reception and that's it, there's no room service in the evening. The rooms are small, modest. Tired people. From the good: Breakfast is normal. All attractions can be reached on foot for 20-30 minutes.

You can check-in 24/7. If you arrive earlier than 1pm and the room is not ready, you can leave your luggage in the luggage room, after 1pm you can check-in anytime, the hotel is always open.

You have bedbugs. What are you going to do about it?

Dear Madame, all Roman hotels have bedbugs from time to time because guests bring them with them on their luggage from the train stations and airports, we get rid of them but they can come back anytime. As you know, it's not an issue of cleaning. We are fighting with them and don't have this issue for the most of the year.
