Easy to find from the train station on foot & not far to walk to local restaurants & bars. If you don’t want to walk far, uber if your best friend!!
We loved the rooftop bar, quite expensive but great views of the lights at night & amazing cocktails!
Very friendly staff.
Very good breakfast. No soy drinks.
Superb roof terrace.
Take care if you plan to use the concierge services for visits to the Coliseum, Pantheon, Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica, they will charge you twice or even triple the price of tickets you can buy online or on site!!
Reluctantly left housekeeping tip at the end of our stay. We felt their shortcomings were due to poor management.
Front desk staff very unfriendly. Our first hotel stay on this trip was lovely, with helpful staff and wonderful amenities. This portion at The Guardian was very disappointing. Also, this leg of our trip was the most expensive, yet least accommodating.
Can not recommend staying here!
Thanks for making our holiday that much better in beautiful Rome.

The location is fabulous, outside of the central busy tourist area, but close enough to metro to be able to travel anywhere in Rome. The breakfast is excellent, with lots of choice and very tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is very relaxing, for evening drink (only disappointment was the cocktails - very expensive and not nice), although bar snacks were lovely!!
Overall a fabulous hotel, I'd highly recommend and when we return next year we'd be more than happy to book this hotel again.
I slept with ear plugs and a pillow over my head and actually slept quite well after the days exertions in packed and wonderful Rome. But after a week it was becoming a bit much. I asked for a change of room on the first night but was told it was 'the last room'.
The room itself was sparse to say the least, with just one drawer beneath a line of hangers. My clothes ended up strewn around the room with everything else piled on a single table. The bed was comfortable though and the shower and safe worked well.
You may be better off on a higher floor but then you may have to use the smallest lift I have ever seen in a hotel. Now I may be a tad claustrophobic but nothing would persuade me into that thing. It is meant for four people and I did see people merrily piling into it with luggage. Good luck to them!
Breakfast was an occasion to be endured with a small buffet room suitable for serving about 12 people, with one little toaster and two beverage machines. Unfortunately there were about 40 people piling into it at peak time. The scrambled eggs, sausages and crispy bacon were nice but the overall choice was very limited. There was plenty of seats and tables available but again very sparse and functional.
Want a nice lounge and a comfy chair to read your book? forget it, I didn't find a comfortable chair in the hotel anywhere. The bar is kind of an extension to the breakfast room and I never saw anyone in it. There is a bar and restaurant on the 6th floor but then you would have to brave the lift.
On the plus side most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the room was beautifully made up every day. The location is excellent and just 7 or 8mins walk from Castro Petronio metro station.
