The Guardian hotel, lauded for its modern charm and stylish atmosphere, offers guests comfortable rooms with functional amenities, underscored by the allure of a rooftop bar. While the rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and contemporary design, some guests note their compact size. The hotel's prime location garners appreciation for its convenience to public transport and tourist attractions. Amazing hotel, clean, spacious rooms & excellent bathroom. The staff are so friendly & helpful. The breakfast was full of choice & flavour & set us up for the day perfectly.

Easy to find from the train station on foot & not far to walk to local restaurants & bars. If you don’t want to walk far, uber if your best friend!!

We loved the rooftop bar, quite expensive but great views of the lights at night & amazing cocktails!

The room was very good. Good air conditioning. Bathroom a little stuck. No luggage rack; if you want to avoid dropping suitcases on the floor, you have to be creative with stools and chairs.
Very friendly staff.
Very good breakfast. No soy drinks.

Superb roof terrace.

Take care if you plan to use the concierge services for visits to the Coliseum, Pantheon, Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica, they will charge you twice or even triple the price of tickets you can buy online or on site!!

I stayed at the hotel with my son w/c 12th Feb, check in was breeze, and the manger was really polite and helpful, We made our way to our room on the 1st floor, and the room was fantastic, very clean, modern and has everything you would need. The bathroom was large and had an excellent shower. Breakfast was served from 7:00am, we got up early, and were met with friendly happy staff who showed us to a table, and the selection on offer was excellent, from cereals to pasties and fruit and yogurts. The staff remained attentive and removed used plates/cutlery with efficiency. Everything is walkable from the hotel and we saw everything that we wanted to in the 4 days. This is a great hotel, and i will definitely coming back.

Not sure if they were overwhelmed due to high occupancy, or they have something against Americans. Nothing for 6 days was replenished in our room and we had to seek most items out, such as toilet paper, tissues, coffee/cream, water. Even the pump shower products in the shower remained empty through out the week. Anytime we tracked down water bottles, they charged 2.50 euro each on our bill.
Reluctantly left housekeeping tip at the end of our stay. We felt their shortcomings were due to poor management.
Front desk staff very unfriendly. Our first hotel stay on this trip was lovely, with helpful staff and wonderful amenities. This portion at The Guardian was very disappointing. Also, this leg of our trip was the most expensive, yet least accommodating.
Can not recommend staying here!

The hotel was excellent. We spent 5 nights here and we had two rooms between four of us, and they kindly put us right next to each other - they were modern, clean and everything worked great. The staff were attentive and friendly, we couldn't fault them. We were on the 4th floor and we didn't find the lift/elevator to be any issue, it's small (not really a surprise and is generally the norm in many places) but all four of us could still fit! The food (both breakfast and lunches/dinners) was delicious and the terrace bar was fantastic to sit out on every evening - serving drinks well into the night. I would say this is a reasonably priced hotel for everything it offers, made even better by being walking distance to everything, we didn't use a taxi at all aside from getting to and from the airport, everything is within a 30-60 min walk.
Thanks for making our holiday that much better in beautiful Rome.

We had a wonderfully great experience at The Guardian which is a high quality "boutique" hotel just a 12-minute walk from Roma Termini station in a quiet, safe area, situated across from the British Embassy. However, all tourist sites are a 20-minute walk minimum so this hotel may not be best for families with young children. The rooms were very well cared for but not expansive, which was okay. Very nice bathroom with plenty of towels. Wi-Fi was reliable and fast. The in-room safe box was one of the sturdiest and well anchored I've ever used in Europe. The hotel has all the basic amenities, except for a business center computer for printing so we had to email documents to the front desk which was sufficient. The desk staff were poised, professional and helpful. Breakfast was a too expensive for us (17 Euros) but there were plenty of little eateries within a short walk to grab morning food, cappuccinos etc. We would return to the hotel if we visit Rome again.

Dear T B, We wish to thank you for the excellent feedback you share about your experience in Rome. So happy you enjoyed all the features, small and huge, emotional and technical which our Guests can take advantage of. Our breakfast come with a very wide offer and can be enjoyed no limites once seated, we think the price (€15) is fair but we understand it could look a bvit expensive if compared to quick breakfast at a bar. We are eager to welcome you back if you ever travel to Rome again. Sincerely, Simona Rongione, Resident Manager at The Guardian Hotel**** - Roma

The Hotel is bright, fresh and nicely decorated, the rooms are fully functional with all the comforts you could need. We travelled with family (a double room and a family room with a double bed and sofa bed) and the sofa bed was already made up (double) which was very comfortable, certainly better than expected.

The location is fabulous, outside of the central busy tourist area, but close enough to metro to be able to travel anywhere in Rome. The breakfast is excellent, with lots of choice and very tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is very relaxing, for evening drink (only disappointment was the cocktails - very expensive and not nice), although bar snacks were lovely!!

Overall a fabulous hotel, I'd highly recommend and when we return next year we'd be more than happy to book this hotel again.

I booked a 'Double Superior' room for single use with a request for a quiet room. What I got was a ground floor room on the corner of two busy streets with windows onto both streets to provide the benefits of non-stop traffic slowing and revving around the corner. Even with solid double glazing the noise was considerable. Want to know what a truck sounds like being unloaded at 5.15am with a hydraulic lift and two steel trolleys right outside your window? Spend a night in room 6 at the Guardian Hotel and you may find out.

I slept with ear plugs and a pillow over my head and actually slept quite well after the days exertions in packed and wonderful Rome. But after a week it was becoming a bit much. I asked for a change of room on the first night but was told it was 'the last room'.

The room itself was sparse to say the least, with just one drawer beneath a line of hangers. My clothes ended up strewn around the room with everything else piled on a single table. The bed was comfortable though and the shower and safe worked well.

You may be better off on a higher floor but then you may have to use the smallest lift I have ever seen in a hotel. Now I may be a tad claustrophobic but nothing would persuade me into that thing. It is meant for four people and I did see people merrily piling into it with luggage. Good luck to them!

Breakfast was an occasion to be endured with a small buffet room suitable for serving about 12 people, with one little toaster and two beverage machines. Unfortunately there were about 40 people piling into it at peak time. The scrambled eggs, sausages and crispy bacon were nice but the overall choice was very limited. There was plenty of seats and tables available but again very sparse and functional.

Want a nice lounge and a comfy chair to read your book? forget it, I didn't find a comfortable chair in the hotel anywhere. The bar is kind of an extension to the breakfast room and I never saw anyone in it. There is a bar and restaurant on the 6th floor but then you would have to brave the lift.

On the plus side most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the room was beautifully made up every day. The location is excellent and just 7 or 8mins walk from Castro Petronio metro station.

Dear 5652ISstevenh, We are very sorry for the bad feelings you got from your stay with us, it is correct that the night you checked in we were fully booked and no changes would have been possible but a change later in the days was not accepted. We wish to say that usually we have no complaints about noise from any rooms since soundproof windows work well, also the street is not really that busy and there is a garden at one side, all rather quiet. The room is a nice one, furniture are modern and elegant, all accessories are provided and sometimes the size may not meet the Guests' expectaions, sorry for this. The lift is medium size, it safely works and serves Guests all day and of course it might be busy sometimes. The Guardian is located in a noble palace of the old Rome and adding a lift has been rather a challenge according to the relevant restrictions in structural modifies. As for breakfast, many seats are available, a whole room is dedicated to the buffet set up, a lot of different choices offered for any taste, we are always ready to improve but please tell us how. We are sorry you did not enjoy both the dehor, a court located at ground zero (a very nice lounge bar and restaurant and relax area) and the wonderful Terrazza Costanza on the sixth floor (breathtaking view of Rome and of the landscape surrounding the city, nice seats and very soft atmosphere for a drink or for taking a break open air). Thank you for appreciating the Staff and the location. Sincerely, Simona Rongione - Resident Manager at The Guardian Hotel****, Roma

Awful service. We were put in what can only be described as a box that was so loud we were woken by the room next door watching tv. When we complained they said we could upgrade to a room with a bath for 100€ but when the room had no hot water we had to move again. Yet we were still charged 100€. Absolute joke.

Dear Elizabeth L, we are very sorry to find this bad review. You originally booked a smart room, a category that has clearly smaller surface and shower only as described in our website and any booking portal. You claimed about the room size that you booked so we suggested a room move to a bigger unit, clearly a difference in price was due and eventually the second room had a bath. It is true that a sudden issue with water occurred but you were soon moved to a new room of the upgraded category, that's why you still were charged the difference. Not a joke but an agreement.
