We had a lovely stay at Smooth Hotel. It is very clean, service is very friendly and helpful and the location is in walking distance to all main sight seeings of Rome. It is also close to the train / bus station and there is a subway line close by to take the metro to The Vatican. If I go...

We have had a 2 night stay at The Smooth Hotel and cannot recommend it enough. A very easy 10 minute walk from Termini Rail Station. If you are looking for a hotel very close to the embassies then definitely choose this one. Literally a minute to British Embassy and 10 to the American Embassy. Also close to shops and...

We was greeted by very friendly staff each and every time we entered the hotel, regardless of the time who also was a massive help when asking about the city as we had never been to Rome before....

She told us about the hotel, breakfast & local area. She went over a map to explain NYE activities & other tourist activities. She made us 2 coffees...

It was a simple 15 minute walk from Termini station to the hotel, I was really surprised how new and modern everything in the rooms were. For the price not sure you could ask for anything more. The breakfast was good, the staff was pleasant. I would stay here again when I return to Rome!

Very friendly check-in and they let us check in early. We liked the room as it had a balcony and the powerful shower and the very comfortable bed. Very new, very clean and lovely breakfast. The breakfast room staff are attentive, and as I see it are not watching every move as other reviewers have implied. Only two minor whinges someone upstairs...

Brand new hotel, spotlessly clean room, very well equipped bathroom, very well located(central but quiet),very good breakfast, helpful staff!!.I have nothing negative to say, except perhaps from the size of the room(a bit small) but we knew it beforehand and was really not a problem to us!!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
