Historic palazzo on the outside, a bold interpretation of luxury inside, W Rome celebrates the Italian attitude and captures the energy of the Eternal City. With its 162 rooms and suites, design twist and vibrant experiences, the hotel marks the W Hotels’ entry to the scene in an unapologetically Italian way. Head chef Ciccio Sultano shakes up the city’s foodie scene, with authentic Sicilian cooking served at Giano Restaurant, while Italian tastemaker Daria Reina brings her passion for the city at W The Store.Loaded with Roman vitality yet dismantling the norm, W Rome has something for everyone, whether it be a sweet retreat at Zucchero x Fabrizio Fiorani, a cocktail with upbeat music at W Lounge or live entertainment at Giardino Clandestino. On the upper floor, striking views of the city make Otto Rooftop Bar, in collaboration with Pier Daniele Seu, and WET Deck even more exceptional. Owning the Eternal City mindset, W Rome calls out the past, present and future to remix tradition and defy boundaries.

I was very impressed with the new facility at the W. I was most impressed with the outstanding staff. As soon as I arrived, I met a gentleman named Alessio. Once I got organized, you personally walked me to the nearby ATM to make sure everything was safe and secure for me. Really appreciate that. Went down to the end of the block to a store to buy my girlfriend a new large luggage for her flight home. This made me feel very welcome and special. I will absolutely return to the W….!! There were so many outstanding staff members at the concierge and throughout the reception, with too many names to mention. I also would like to mention that one of the staff members in the restaurant area, named Nada, She greets everyone with a friendly smile and outstanding customer service throughout my 8 day stay!!

The people make this hotel great! The W Rome is a very good hotel in the middle of quiet part of town with all of the major sites within walking distance. There are many good restaurants and shopping just minutes away. The breakfast was amazing and the burger and fries for lunch was perfect! We had a small glitch with the television and Jennifer was on it immediately and took great care of us for a brief time while it was replaced.

This is a close to brand new W property (opened in late 2021) well-situated in a calm yet very central area just a few minutes walk from the bustling tourist centre of Rome. The common areas of the hotel have a smart, modern design yet paying homage to the original building style with discreet cornice decoration in the ceilings. We had a Studio Suite which was in essence a large guest room (32 sqm) with a small seating area in front of the bed. Spacious and very comfortable bed and pillows. The main downfall was the unacceptable lack of ceiling lights and lamps in the room. As other reviewers have noted, the room was very dark even during the day. They really need to sort this out. The front door staff, the bellboys and service staff were all very friendly and helpful. The concierge could have been more attentive. While the rooftop area hadn't officially opened for the season, guests could still use it which was a nice bonus during a few summery April days, Great 360 panorama views of central Rome. All in all a pleasant stay, but again the room light situation needs to be resolved.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter weekend. I liked the room. Even though it was supposedly a suite, it was pretty small and the view was nothing special. But the bed was really comfy, there was lots of storage space and a decent sized safe, and a good bathroom and brilliant dark red velvet black out curtains. Shame that there was an additional charge for anything out of the minibar but I understand that's the norm for these hotels. Really good housekeeping staff made the room immaculate every day. Location was good and it was easy to walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountains and so on. Our room was not ready for 3pm check in. The excuse given was that the previous people had a late check out. A late check out should not impact the next guests' check in. They acknowledged this and waived our bill for the drinks we had had whilst waiting. The other minor annoyance was that cocktails may be more expensive than the menu price, when offered a choice of brand of spirit. That's fine, but it should be made clear at the time of offering the choice. I did enjoy the little snacks that came with the drinks. The breakfast was really nice and for our room rate included the buffet plus one dish off the à la carte menu. The buffet was small and compact and consisted of really good quality charcuterie, cheese, fruit, cereal, olives and so on. There was a whole separate room devoted to cake and bread too. A la carte included things like avocado on toast, chia pudding, salmon, eggs, bacon.... Really nice and the waiting staff were great too. There's a small rooftop pool but it was too cold to go in in March. Nice little area though and will be really great in summer.

So much to like about this boutique hotel! From the staff to the lounge and especially breakfast, everything exceeded expectations. While the rooms were on the smaller side, the sophisticated décore, comfy beds, and elegant bathrooms, more than made up for it. It’s what you expect from a big city hotel. The staff are truly lovely people especially those greeting you at the door and the concierge. We stayed one night but can’t wait to go back.

We had a fantastic four night stay at the W Rome. It’s a jewel of a hotel in a great location but what makes it really special is the hospitality and warmth of the entire staff. They each go out of their way to be welcoming, helpful and to make you feel at home. The hotel is located next to the US Embassy, and close to several other American hotels. It’s off the Main Street and we found it to be very quiet. None of the thumping music that W is known for. It is five stories total so not a lot of views, also it’s two separate wings and we avoided the courtyard facing rooms as we prefer to have quieter rooms with more light. A key is required to access the guest room floors via the elevator but there’s also a beautiful staircase all the way up to the roof on the sixth floor. We booked three separate rooms for our family of six. We requested that the rooms be connecting but this was not an option for some reason, possibly because it’s a small hotel and there are not a lot of connecting rooms available. We got three rooms on the 4th floor, overlooking a beautiful old building and park. The rooms were bright, very well appointed but also absolutely tiny! Definitely the smallest hotel rooms we’ve ever encountered, even in Tokyo which was my prior tiny room record. All three were king rooms, my own was a suite but it didn’t have any common features of a suite as it was just so small, barely the size of a regular hotel room. We also had a corner room with two windows and another king with one window. All of the windows open so it was great to get some fresh air moving in the rooms each day. Other comforts included the excellent AC that kept our room at 65 all day every day which we love, and a tea kettle which allowed for my favorite everyday luxury which is hot tea a few times a day. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the towels and toiletries were very luxurious. The closets were so small that we couldn’t unpack all of our clothes but we made it work. The housekeeping service is excellent, twice daily and extremely thorough. Almost on a daily basis we got a lovely delivery of handmade goodies from chocolates to treats and fresh fruit. There was also an ample supply of water bottles and we got ice at breakfast each morning to bring bottles of iced water on our trips. When I misplaced my Ritz Carlton Maui water bottle Danielo at the concierge very kindly replaced it with a W bottle. The hotel is known for its on premise bakery and it did not disappoint. The baked goods were absolutely incredible, fresh, tasty and a large variety. The Giano restaurant is beautiful and the staff there is excellent. The six of us had breakfast each day including a couple of us who got strep throat and were super cranky. The waitress made sure to bring us lots of water, ice and coffee. She also gave us a to go box so the children could eat later when they were feeling more comfortable. This was a great example of how kind and thoughtful the staff are, they really made us feel at home and that they couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The avocado toast and chia pudding are exceptional. Breakfast was actually our best and most consistent meal during our trip to Rome. We had early flights on our last day so they packed six to go breakfast boxes for us which we were thrilled to enjoy at the airport. We had our last dinner on the Friday night at the restaurant and it was very good. Claudio went out of his way to find us a table despite us not having a reservation and it being a busy evening. The staff again were excellent from the waiter to the sommelier. They brought us several dishes to try and their recommendations were excellent. Again the warm baked goods were delicious. In the afternoon when we visited the coffee shop Claudio explained each baked good to my son and then treated him to a second one as my son had a hard time choosing. We took two tours recommended by the concierge, a 3 hour golf cart tour which is a great way to get the family to see the city. Also a 3 hour walking tour of the coliseum and surrounding areas. Both guides were excellent and each tour cost 550 euro. Be sure to confirm with the concierge if these will be charged to your room, or if the guides accept payment via credit card. Everyone in Rome was hustling for cash vs card so we were running out by the end of our trip. We tried two of the local restaurants the concierge recommended and neither was good. Eat at the hotel or do more research on your own as our meals outside of the hotel were a disappointment of our trip. We picked the W because of the reviews from my fellow Marriott Ambassador friends and we understand why. Though the hotel and rooms are small, it is a warm and inviting environment. The staff are competent, engaged and caring. Many thanks to Jennifer, Gianluca and all of the other staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

Nice trip. Hotel was crowded. The gym was very nice. We came for a birthday weekend and paid for one of the larger rooms but it was still quite small. I would suggest if you were looking for decent room space this might not be the best spot. It also is close to some of the other good hotels in town.

Dear LuxuryGlobal, On behalf of the entire hotel team, I want to sincerely thank you for sharing your experience with us at W Rome. We are well aware of the size of our rooms, since being allocated in the heart of the city cannot be as big as they are in conference hotels. However, we still think it's a big advantage to have the possibility to stay at 10 minutes from the Spanish steps and enjoy such a wonderful view from our rooftop. Please come back and visit us anytime: we will be waiting for you! Best regards, Grazia Menna Quality Supervisor & PA to GM

It’s a world class experience in this iconic City. Location - quiet, in the high end location but equally 5 minutes walk from the Spanish Steps and then on to the Trevi and Pantheon. It’s the usual W vibe but it’s not overdone. W Lounge is bouncing but in a quiet way. The staff in the reception, breakfast (which is amazing) and in the Lounge are in a class of their own. So attentive, polite and again, don’t overdo it. You feel comfortable, not overwhelmed. A word for Giacomo - I had to go searching for him name - he is so good. Runs the W Lounge to such a degree that you don’t want to leave. It’s value for money. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. Only point - I really wish they would find a way to open the rooftop bar in the winter months. The pizzeria there is the best in Rome but alas it was closed. We will be back.
