There is lots to like at this property. Though it does not have it's own restaurant, you are served snacks with your cocktails on the lovely patio, just adjacent from the charming lobby. There are many restaurants within walking distance and the concierge-like service will be a big plus for you. The desk attendants are very nice and speak English...

The Albergo Santa Chiara is conveniently located a block away from the Pantheon, one of my favorite places in Rome. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. Very good value. We could walk everywhere from here, and we did. Just a short walk to the Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Narvona. If you'd rather not walk, the public buses are...

It was our first trip to Rome, and I booked this hotel almost a year in advance. I chose it mainly for the location (right behind the Pantheon), and I wasn't disappointed: a 20 to 30-minute walk in any direction, and you'll hit most of the main Old Rome sights. The hotel is very clean, well-appointed, and the continental breakfast...

Simple rooms, very clean, nice breakfast in the morning- but the LOCATION is fantastic. Friendly staff too- we were a group of 20 and I had a penthouse room with patio overlooking the Pantheon that could fit maybe... 50 people. They helped me with food and wine and every night we had a small party out there admiring the views...

Nice rooms, with all amenities. They are small, but typical of european hotel rooms. Very helpful staff. Very good morning breakfast included. You can walk to many of the major sites and there is a good selection of restaurants and pubs in the near vicinity. Taxi stand right around the corner if you need to get to train station or...

My family and I stayed at this hotel in June. The rooms were excellent. Clean, spacious and modern with on the wall LCD tvs. Our room had a veranda which made it nice for wine and snacks in the afternoon. Our AC didnt work when we checked in but the staff made it a priority and fixed it rather quickly....

This hotel was our favorite during our extensive tour in Italy. We had a wonderful room on the second floor overlooking the street. The breakfast was fresh and had an excellent variety of food. We were wishing we could eat there all three meals. Service and information was just the best. It is very centrally located. I highly recommend this...

Hotel was wonderful. We had a newer room, looking into an inner courtyard, nothing special but it was beautifully quiet. Larger room and bathroom than expected, given location. When you walk out the front door, you are a few steps from the famous statue by Bernini of the little elephant. A few feet further and you are at the Pantheon....

Everything about Albergo Santa Chiara exceeded my expectations. My room was spotlessly clean, shiny with new amenities. It had a balcony with 2 chairs, unexpected for a single room. The staff went out of their way to give detailed directions for taking public buses in Rome and to help in other ways. The location was perfect, 1 block from the...

The location is wonderful. It just behind the Pantheon next to the Piazza Santa Minerva. The hotel is simple, clean, very pretty....excellent staff. For a three star hotel, this hotel is outstanding. I had a room on the 4th floor. It was simple, clean, comfortable, excellent bed, spacious, had a nice television (flat screen), great bathroom with a shower (no...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Who we are The history of the Albergo Santa Chiara begins in 1939. At the first it was a "wine-shop" then changed into a small inn, enlarged in the following years, the 10 rooms of the first days have become now 96, distributed in 3 adjoining buildings. In one of them is located the Saint Catherine from Siena's Chapel. The old lobby, on the contrary, has become a theatre. You can't miss a short chat at one of the table of our open-air bar, quiet and private, that overlooks the Minerva Square. The most affectionate guests love the wide and classic styled rooms, younger prefers the modern and high-tech ones. The hotel service is impeccable, the rooms are very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. You will find this is a friendly, relaxed hotel that will make you feel right at home. The hotel has been in the same family ownership for nearly a century. The ground floor hall has seen the proclamation of the Popular Party by Don Sturzo, the rooms have counted the steps of Noble prizes such as Amartya Sen, Franco Modigliani and clergy men later be became Popes, politicians then elected Republican President, philosophers, artists, writers from Fogazzaro to Sartre to Banana Yoshimoto. ... more   less
