If you are traveling with your significant other this is a great place to stay. The hotel itself is small and beautiful, the decoration is very unique and each rooms has a theme. We stayed at one of the regular bedrooms but there wasn't anything regular at all as it was excellent! The room size isn't much but for a...

After returning from my first holiday adventure to Rome on my own I can definitely say it was a most enjoyable experience. My room was decorated beautifully. The name of it was camera del sole room 816. It does not have a bath but a large shower. Not the biggest of rooms if sharing but ideal for me. Breakfast selection...

Found this treasure of a place randomly and lived everything about it. It was all we wanted and more of our stay in rome. The decor is imaginatively modern luxe and the staff charming. The aventine is a great location for a stroll to some interesting landmarks.

We stayed at the San Anselmo back over Easter for four nights and were delighted with our choice. Rome has hundreds of hotels but we wanted something small with character and away from traffic and noise. We definitely feel we made the right choice for the time of the year. We selected our room from the hotel website and we...

We've stayed at many a Ritz Carlton, W's, etc. For a quaint elegant Roman boutique hotel experience....stay here. We stayed in "Angelique" room (beige room with big billowy canopy) overlooking the courtyard. The scent of orange blossoms filled the room daily from a tree just beneath our open window. Bed is very hard and room itself was quite small with...

This is a great hotel. It has character (each room is furnished differently) and atmosphere with period decorations. The Granducal room we stayed in was lovely. It is in a quiet residential area, surrounded by greenery. Being located just south of the Circus Maximus is an easy walk distance from many major sites (Roman Forum, Palatine) and decent restaurants. The...

I Got a good offer on a room at this hotel. It was a scoop. Nice room with some outside space, where we could drink some coffee and gået our breakfast. Not far from ancient Rome, but a bit of the Way from Centro.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is situated in a quiet residential area, which is perfect to escape from the frenetic pace of the city centre. It takes about 20-30 mins to get to the Collosseum. There is a wonderful park nearby offering panoramic views across the city day and night. It is a very safe area...

After much research trying to find a decent, reasonable place in Rome we chose to stay in Hotel San Anselmo and we were not disappointed. The front desk staff were great, especially the lady who checked us in, very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations, taxi, etc. good breakfast and a nice change of pace in a quite neighborhood....

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
