Perfect city break hotel, offering compact rooms, good location (4 minutes walk from Coliseum Metro stop) and authentic Italian style throughout. Expect simple Italian breakfast (bread, cheeses and good coffee), comfortable but compact rooms, cool and unique Italian mosaic decor and helpful staff, should you require any assistance. Great base to explore Rome from. Twitter: @filwhite

Family trip to Rome (two adults, one child). While the hotel was a bit difficult to find (even for our airport shuttle driver), it was situated very close to the Colosseum and Palatine Hill (and the Colosseo Metro station), which made it easy to walk around the city. Breakfasts were quite enjoyable, and the hotel staff went out of their...

The hotel is not far from the Colosseum. It is a relatively small hotel. My room was a bit fancy, but tasteful, with high ceilings. The bathroom had a nice size. But as there was a painting right behind the bed, I felt reluctant to sit in the bed and relax towards the wall. I have not had breakfast so...

One of the most hostile hotels I have ever stayed in. We were not made to feel welcome. It was as if our stay was a huge inconvenience to the man who ran the front desk and the 2 blonde woman who rolled their eyes and sneered whenever a guest dared to step into 'their' reception. There are no aircon...

If high Baroque, Rococo style is your thing, then the Celio Hotel is likely to fit the bill. Situated in the Celio neighbourhood next to the Colloseum, its plain facade belies a lavish interior, where sumptuous velvet, gold leaf and mosaic floors have created a luxurious - if slightly claustrophobic - retreat from the chaos of the streets outside. The...

Very small room with ensuite shower room. No bath. Opened onto courtyard with lots of mosquitoes ( got bitten a lot) so we could not have the windows open. very dark room with poor lighting. Decor was great but we could not see it. Breakfast was distinctly lacking in variety. Served in a gazebo in the courtyard. No hot tea.

This hotel is very good. Very well decorated, breakfast room undercover in a courtyard. Lovely. Very good location for walking to all the main sight seeing revues. Take a look at the Roof Garden that is very well cared for. We found a good ciabata sandwich shop one minute from the Pantheon, The Lost Food Shop. Have comfortable shoes and...

Nice room and a good breakfast. Hotel situated within 1 block of the Colosseum and the tourist hop on hop off busses, as well as the underground trains. We stayed for 3 days and really enjoyed our visit. We had a room on the first floor, and the only issue really was that there is no lift, so had to...
