Hotel Madrid is quite small and its interior is a bit outdated, but it is excellently located in a quiet street between the Corso and the Spanish stairs. We were lucky and got a 3 bed room on the top floor, right next to the roof terrace. Very cosy, and the views from the terrace are amazing. No doubt we...

This is a gem of a place. Apart from being within walking distance of most major Roman sights, Hotel Madrid has relatively large rooms and bathrooms (for Rome). The hotel is clean and crisp, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The piece de resistance is the roof garden: a good breakfast buffet (including eggs, bacon, cheeses, and yoghurts)...

The location of this hotel is fantastic - right in the heart of the action, easy to walk everywhere, even the sites located slightly further afield such as the Vatican. The room was well equipped and the bathroom was a good size with hot/powerful shower. The breakfast on the roof terrace was of a good standard. The WiFi could be...

Nice clean hotel. Very close to Spanish Steps and shopping. Nice continental breakfast. Very friendly staff. We had a 2 room suite because we were 4 people. It was roomy enough for the 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 kids aged 18 and 16, so really 4 adults and we had enough room.

This Hotel was great. Our rooms were large and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was a great buffet and the room on the 5th floor had wonderful views. The location is great with the Spanish steps and metro stop only minutes away. Would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Hotel.

Actually, I have nothing to add or deduct from my review of 23rd September 2015! Again, my wife and I, as well as this time my brother and my sister in law from Canada, had a great stay in Rome at the Hotel Madrid. This hotel - besides several other advantages such as location etc - is unique mainly because...

I don't know where to begin. Girls trip and my friend booked this hotel and the rest of us just went along with her decision. One of the best decisions of our trip! From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Check in was a breeze. We were offered limoncello (delicious), while explaining everything. Without asking our bags...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
