Yes, it's convenient to Termini and very close to the Piazza Repubblica and corresponding Metro stops, but honestly, this hotel felt really run-down and ill-maintained. Upon entrance, my room was blisteringly hot and even with the windows wide open at night, it was really hard to get a restful night's sleep. I tried turning off the towel heater in the... More

Nice hotel convenient to Termini Station. Walking distance to many sights and a short Metro ride to the Vatican. Close to the Metro. Rooms were clean and not too small. Nice breakfast and friendly staff

This was our first time staying in this hotel, which was chosen due to its proximity to some of Rome's most famous attractions. We found our accommodations to be very comfortable and clean. Contrary to some of the recent reviews, our room was extremely quiet. We were very much impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, both with... More

I stayed at this hotel two different times in September/October. Each time in a different room on different floor. The hotel is located in easy walking distance of the train station and metro stops. The rooms were both basic, but comfortable and meet my needs for a place to stay while exploring Rome. Internet worked well in each of the... More

A reasonable hotel with helpful staff but remember this is just a 3 star hotel so don't expect the room and bathroom to have the same amenities and be of the same size that you're probably used to. Handy to transport and restaurants. Short walk to where the hop-on hop-off bus tours start from. Avoid rooms on the ground floor... More

This was my third time staying in Rome and I chose the Hotel Aberdeen for my quick one night stay prior to my flight the next day. I have traveled extensively through Europe trusting Rick Steves picks and was saddened to find this one did not meet expectations. The room was small which was fine for the price, but the... More

Nice hotel with friendly staff. We found our room to be very noisy with doors banging at all hours which made it difficult to have the window open for air. Average breakfast, could easily give it a miss.

The same clean rooms and friendly service as always. Nothing seems to have changed since our first visit. Good availability of a limo service to airport. Needs some freshening up. Close to Rome Termini and shops and walking distance to Spanish Steps, etc. Only real downside for us was the breakfast room (food and coffee was tasty) seemed like a... More

We only stayed at the Aberdeen for one night in order to spend a day in Rome and catch an early flight the next morning. While I appreciated being able to walk from the train station to the hotel but I wasn't as happy with the hotel's location for quick sightseeing. There are many government buildings in the vicinity but... More

We were 3 ladies traveling together and chose this hotel because of the location and price. We stayed 3 days when we first arrived and then another night a month later just before we left Italy. The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful from the time we made the online booking until our final departure. We shared a room... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
