The hotel was in a beautiful old building in a lovely part of the city. Incredibly helpful staff available 24/7. Very centrally located and I was able to walk to all the main tourist sites (Vatican, Colosseum etc…). As a female solo traveller I felt very safe in the area. Shops and restaurants nearby, and the hotel had a cute rooftop bar (not open Mondays).

The room was a good size with a daily cleaning service (which is pretty unheard of these days). No breakfast, but the hotel do make that clear to people, and there are plenty of places to eat in the locality. Extra coffees etc available from reception as needed.

The hotel can also arrange airport transfers. It’s a few euros more than the standard cabs, but the cars are a lot more comfortable with professional and friendly drivers. So I’d recommend this too to take any stress out of your travel.

Dear Mrs. Melia, good evening from Relais Orso. We thank you immensely for the fantastic and comprehensive review you have written of Relais Orso, we're pleased to know that you particularly appreciated the courtesy of the staff, the clarity of the information regarding your booking and your stay, the rooftop bar, the fact that the hotel provides a daily cleaning service in the rooms, and that enjoyed the extra services. We're happy to know that your stay has met important expectations, and we can't wait to have you back as our welcome guest at the Relais Orso. Our best regards Fabrizio Relais Orso

Very nice stay here. Clean new modern decor. Nice staff. My room was not huge but it was efficiently designed (small bathroom but chic layout). Comfortable bed. I’d be happy to stay here again.

The only thing I’d add would be a breakfast option. Most hotels in Italy have it included or as an extra and this one had neither. There are of course cafes all about Rome but there is something nice about having a breakfast before starting the day.

Location, location, location. That is what this charming little boutique hotel is all about. It is by no means an easy hotel to find as it has no signage out front. If we didn’t take a taxi directly to the hotel, we wouldn’t have found it.

We stayed here 3 days pre cruise and couldn’t have been happier. It is on a very tiny street that seems miles removed from the throngs of tourists in Rome. While the hotel has no breakfast offerings, The street itself has 3 or 4 little cafes. Perfect for a morning cappuccino, croissant and to feel like you’re in a postcard.

Within a 5 minute walk, there are hundreds of cafes and restaurants.

In under twelve minutes walking (REALLY) you are at the Piazza Navona (5 minutes) Pantheon (10 minutes) campo de Florio (7 minutes) Trevi Fountain is about 14 minutes walk.

Just up the stairs passed the homeless guy in the alley at the roads end next to the hotel, is the Tiber, a breathtaking view of Casa Sant Angelo (three minutes to the view, 15 minutes walk to the Casa), it’s bridge, and the Vatican.

Walking times are based on two 69 year old people strolling. Youthful mileage may be much quicker. Letting your fully charged cellphone and Google maps be your guide, you can get anywhere.

Like I said, location, location, location.

The staff at the hotel is extremely friendly. It has a GREAT little rooftop bar which was open during our stay. We stopped their nightly for a cocktail before hitting the hay.

Our room was great BUT had the quirkiest thing I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The shower, was in the bedroom, at the end of the bed, lol. Since I had never read this in any other review I assume it was just our room that had this.

It was, however, a great shower and the result of much laughter from my wife.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and recommend it without hesitation.

Room only offered, they do Breakfast with a linked restaurant 100m's or so away at a very reasonable rate 8 euro Per person, though we found breakfast elsewhere for roughly the same rate. Rooms are very on trend.. Hair dryers, TV and Nespresso Machine..
Don't be expecting Views from this Hotel as its located off the Ponte Umberto I. building stacked closely to each other so views from the rooftop terrace are great but not from the 3rd floor where we were.
That aside I would definitely use this Hotel again..
My 1 gripe with the Hotel/Agent (super escapes) was that we were promised a superior room and it doesn't seem we got one having looked a another room that was.. only difference being the size of the room and the shower.. like I said a small thing being we didn't use the room as we were out all day every Day...

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are happy that you have enjoyed your stay here. As you already know the hotel is an historical building, all our rooms dosen't have a big views given that we are right in the heart of the city and there are many others old buildings surrounding us. As described on all our web sites we have 4 types of rooms: starting from the superior room and then going up with the Deluxe, Junior Suite and finally the Suite. We always want to inform that the reception is open 24h every days and that we are always ready to help our guest for any information about the rooms and why not to give the possibility to make a change or an upgrade. We looking forward to have you as our special guest again and we will be happy to suggest you a our fantastic suite on the 4th floor with a little view, private terrace and Jacuzzi. Thank you for choosing the Relais Orso Our best regards Marialaura

I am returning to this beautiful boutique hotel for the third time and for me it is still the best in the center of Rome.
My deluxe room (Pascal) had a beautiful design and a beautiful jacuzzi in the room and a private terrace. The staff was always very kind and attentive (reception open 24 hours a day).
The terrace on the top floor had a wonderful view of the ancient center of the city

I can not say enough good things about this hotel! The location is great- you can walk to many attractions and there are great restaurants close. The room was clean and comfortable, complete with a refrigerator and espresso machine. They were able to lend me an umbrella on the rainy days, and delivered an iron to my room. Most of all the staff was incredible- warm and incredibly helpful. I don’t speak much Italian. They made reservations for me, helped me get my PCR test, printed documents and even helped when I lost my wallet! If I could give 10 stars I would.

we stay in this beautiful boutique hotel for 2 nights to stay close to Piazza Navona. (we were previously in the San Pietro area). Everything went as I expected, extremely kind and friendly staff. Well finished rooms with attention to the smallest details but the most beautiful thing is the charm of the ancient building with contemporary style. The terrace overlooking the city center is enchanting especially in the evening in absolute silence.

SURPRISING AND CHARMING

We really didn't expect to find such a pleasant and above all expectations atmosphere!
Nestled among the enchanting alleys in the heart of Rome, it is perfect for reaching the main attractions of the city in a short time. We were surprised by the authenticity of this historic building mixed with a modern style studied in detail. Rooms with a minimal and modern style but at the same time a warm and comfortable environment that does not neglect any comfort and has all the essentials. Impeccable cleaning every day. Comfortable bed, soundproofed room, great Wifi connection. Professionalism of the staff available 24 hours a day and above all of Maria Laura really very kind.
A small terrace on the top floor. It was great to relax after a long day with a great cocktail and enjoy the sunset view.
In short, nothing is missing to spend a fabulous weekend!
We can't wait to come back!

This hotel does have its good points. The location is excellent. Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. The lounge spaces were inviting. The room was functional. However the room we had, Frida, had very little natural light. And for me this is important. The bathroom floor was concrete and the shower lacked a handheld option. Just little things that make a difference for me. Perhaps if I had had a different room with more light I would have been completely satisfied.
There are some good restaurants nearby and it is a 5 minute walk to piazza Navona.

Dear guest, good morning from Relais Orso. We thank you for the positive evaluation you wrote about your stay at Relais Orso, we're pleased to know that you particularly appreciated the hotel's location in relation to tourist attractions and places to eat, and the friendliness of the staff. We're sorry that you found the room in which you stayed dark, with little natural light, unfortunately the room assignment, if a specific room isn't requested, is done automatically, based on availability and customer requests. Should you decide to return to stay at the Relais Orso, we advise you to add, in your reservation, who would prefer to stay in a brighter room, We'll be happy to accommodate your request. We trust, hopefully, to have you back as our welcome guest in the future. Our warmest regards. Fabrizio Relais Orso

All rooms serviced by elevator. Rooftop bar serviced by elevator. Rooftop bar open from 6pm to 11pm and the bar is on the rooftop, view at sunset is amazing. No breakfast in this hotel. Superior room is great but I think all the rooms are great. They are small like most in Europe. Very, very good hotel for the price. Location is amazing.
