Stayed at this B&B in north central Rome. Clean spacious room for my son and I. Short tram ride to Flaminia metro stop where we had easy access to Vatican Colosseum and other sites in central Rome. The owner was extremely helpful with local info and especially getting our late luggage while we were touring. The one drawback is lack of AC which could make it warm in mid summer. Very good continental breakfast. More

We loved this cozy, multi-room apartment and were very comfortable during our two-night stay. The decor is modern with lots of cute touches (lots of Marilyn Manroe and Audrey Hepburn). Our room (Camera Lilla) was at the end of the hall and featured a spotless en suite bathroom that was actually spacious (with sink, toilet, bidet, and shower). As other reviewers have noted, the apartment is on the ground level, but we didn't have a problem with street noise in our room.

The common-area kitchen is stocked with breakfast biscuits, cereal, milk, yogurt, juices, coffee/espresso maker, kettle and teas. Owner Carla does not live on site, but she stopped by every day to restock the kitchen and clean the rooms. There's free wi-fi, and city maps, brochures, points of interest, and handy phone numbers (like taxi companies) are provided in the apartment.

We chose B&B Il Lucchetto because of its close proximity to the Stadio Olimpico (for an AS Roma game). But it's a short...

Staying in Flaminio

Neighbourhood Profile
Flaminio
The Flaminio area has been making a name for itself as a hub for contemporary architecture and art. Over the past decade, Flamino’s grassy knolls have seen the rise of cultural centres - amazing feats of architecture like the beautiful Ponte della Musica, the wavy contemporary art MAXXI Museum, and the futuristic Parco della Musica, a music complex where international names perform. Flaminio also has traces of the 1960 Olympic Games with Palazzetto dello Sport and Villagio Olimpico, the athlete’s Olympic village turned residential housing. If culture means a ball and a foot, keep your eye on the prize: Rome’s famed Stadio Olimpico football stadium is just a short walk across a bridge.
