My sister and I stayed at Hotel Luce for 6 nights from June 26- July 2, 2006 under the Jetaway package flight/hotel accomedation special with SKYSERVICE AIRLINES/ALBA TOURS (TORONTO). My experience at the hotel to put it mildly was outright terrible. Immediately upon entering my...More
The star rating on the hotel plaque states 4 stars. The package we took says 3 stars. Our rating - 2 stars. The Continental breakfast was the same every morning and terrible. They need a new instant coffee dispensing machine as well. Leaks all over....More
We were a group of three women travelling, so we occupied a triple room at the Hotel Luce for the last night of our trip (we returned to Rome to fly out the next morning from Fiumicino). The one redeeming quality of this hotel was...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
Hi, I'm not sure if there is parking facilities as we got the tram from the airport, so might be worth contacting the hotel but it is very close to the main road. It is only one road behind the main road. Hope that helps

It's 1 minute away from termini station where you would be able to take the metro to the Vatican, it's definitely not walking distance. As far other attractions, maybe a 30 or 40 minute walk to the coliseum and possibly a 25 minute walk to Spanish steps and trevi fountain if you're walking fast.
