We stayed at this hotel for a few days and we met THE BEST receptionist ever. He helped us with tips and tricks, with where to go, what and where to eat and drink etc. The hotel is very nice with clean rooms and the breakfast was ok. Thanks again Serghei for a job well done!

We stayed at Montecarlo Hotel for 3 nights. Staff/Service - 5 - All staff members were friendly and helpful, always someone on the front desk to assist us with our needs. Food - 3 - Breakfast: We only used the breakfast once due to booked tours and an early flight. The breakfast room was small, on a busy day it...

I stayed here for 2 nights on a solo trip and had a single room. Yes it wasn't massive, it was indeed a single room and the shower cubicle was tiny (luckily I'm small) but it was clean and comfy and totally suitable for my needs. To be honest my experience of any city hotel is that the rooms are...

I was told I have to change rooms tomorrow because it is needed by another party. No upgrade. No consideration at all. I feel like I'm in an overbooked hotel in the Caribbean. I feel I am being discriminated against because I'm a single, older female. Also, internet has only worked sporadically since I arrived. I am deeply disappointed in...

We had a really lovely 5-day stay in th Montecarlo Hotel in Rome. It would be difficult to find fault with any aspect of our time there. This is a fine three star property offering hospitality in a simple and engaging way, above what you would normally expect from a hotel in this category. The Hotel is very well situated...

We chose the Montecarlo Hotel mainly because of its proximity to the train station. It was a short walk to the station where we had access to the subway and the trains. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood with what appears to be good security because of the foreign embassies and offices nearby. Small restaurants and shops are...

No complaints whatsoever about this Hotel, the staff are what made the stay pleasurable. Always helpful and friendly. Even after en early jet-lag induced wake-up, the front desk personnel were nice enough to make me a cup of coffee at 4 in the morning! I think its a perfect location as its a 10 minute walk to Termini Station, and...

In Rome it's important for me to have a central position and Hotel Montecarlo is in a small street near the station. The room was very clean and spacious, breakfast essential but ok. Stuff was very nice and helpful. I would recomand it for a short stay.

We visited Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. Our best night of sleep was at the Montecarlo Hotel. Even though the bed is firm and the pillows are hard and flat (like all Italian hotels), it was very quiet and our room temperature was perfect. The staff was very friendly. Location is within walking distance of the rail and bus stations....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
