Room was decent size but lacked maintenance and hygiene, service was poor at the front desk but friendly for breakfast. Room lacked hot water especially in the morning, had to take a cold shower the last day before check out. Poor value overall. The only positive was its location just a few minutes (500 meters) from Termini station. I would...

We recently booked in to this hotel for 2 nights on my first trip to Rome. Apart from the location we were very disappointed with our stay. Our main issue was the leaky bathroom that smelt (very strongly) of urine for the entire stay. We mentioned the large amount of water on the floor to reception staff who advised this...

Hotel San Remo location, close to the Termini train Station, is useful for traveler. From the airport, take the Leonardo da Vinci express and you are there faster than by any other means (½ hour). Also, travelers can easily take trains to all around Roma. The area is not the most beautiful in town but you can walk to the...

The hotel was sold to us by citalia as a 3 star but was more like a one star. The brochure does not show what it is really like! The decor is poor with electric sockets having gaps a round which are very dangerous as they we in the bathroom.

We went to Rome for a few days holiday. The hotel is situated near to the bus station and some lovely restraurants. It is quite a basic hotel but the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and a good choice was on offer and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definately stay there...

I would like to write a review of this hotel but despite the fact we researched which hotel we wanted based on tripadvisor reviews and booked in May, we got no further than reception, where we were told they were overbooked and had booked us into a nearby alternative hotel. The hotel we were sent to did not unfortunately live...

I stayed at the San Remo hotel at the end of May. It was a great place to stay while in Rome. It is located about 10mins walking distance from the Termini train station and subway station (termini). The hotel is near a lot of cafes and restaurants, also since its near the train station you can take advantage of...

The hotel staff were lovely, helpful and kind. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious - very big, Our 7 year old and 3 year old had a great time. We did not spend too much time at the hotel as there was so much we needed to see and enjoy in Rome, but when we return we will stay here...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
