The hotel is small and the rooms as well. The street can be quite noisy and the double glass is not that good. The breakfast is quite scarce and the products not very good quality. The rooms on the floor of the breakfast area can be quite noisy as of 8 am. We did not have clean towels one day...

Hollywood Hotel is great value for money. An easy walk to the main train station in Rome. It's not a luxury hotel by any standard, but if you are looking for a clean safe hotel, this one is great value. The lady at reception was happy to answer all of our questions about Rome. I would come back here again.

This hotel is well located to walk to the train station as well as the Trevi Fountain and some other sights. It is not as bad as some of the reviews make it sound ~ but it's definitely not a "nice" hotel. My wife says it's "cute" ~ but I wouldn't go quite as far. If you need a place...

Even allowing for the fact that Rome is not a cheap place to stay, this hotel is over-priced, old, tired and in need of a serious face-lift. We had left it rather late to arrange accommodation for our trip to Rome and all of the highly recommended hotels were fully booked. Not having money to burn (you can easily pay...

This review is a little late as I stayed there in 2008 with friends on back packing trip throughout Europe. The room was clean, and the location couldn't have been better! Just a 5 minute walk from Roma Centrale. Rooms were clean, front desk very helpful and the location felt very safe. When I go back to Italy, this is...

The hotel is really awful. The rooms are very small and very old, located in some ordinal living house with "ancient" lift. The entrance is inside in the yard and is very scary when it is dark. The lift doesn't work after 22 P.M. The door is very poor and can be unlocked just if to push harder... The cover...

Ended up staying in Rome for one night after a week of touring Italy. This was actually a deplorable place. We got there and the manager insisted we pay cash, which is weird to say the least. We were then lead to a back alley to take a shaky elevator to our room. The room was tiny and the dirtiness...

Very small room - double bed, night stand, and vanity. No space to leave a suitcase open. Tiny bathroom (approx. 4' X 6') contained stall shower, sink, toilet and bidet. No room in which to turn around. Mattress and pillows were hard and had filthy covers. Thank goodness the linen was clean. Tiny elevator serving six floors - extremely slow....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
